After breakfast at 6:30 am, you will leave for a full-day game drive with a packed lunch, or you can agree with your guide to break for lunch at the camp, depending on your preference. The search for great wild animals continues. On the plains, large herds of herbivores graze, and cheetahs and leopards hide in their locations. The Masai Mara is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas. There have been some 95 species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 bird species recorded on the reserve. Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant, and for this reason, visitors hardly miss seeing the Big Five (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino).
At the Masai Mara, you will have an opportunity to drive down to the Mara River, the site of the great migration when in season – July through October. The immense herds of wildebeest and zebra are a magnificent sight, matched only by the drama of the predators who lie in wait for them.
