Pick up from Entebbe / Kampala and transfer to Kibale forest national park

Begin your journey with an early morning pick-up from Entebbe or Kampala and set off westward through Uganda’s lush countryside. Enjoy views of tea plantations, traditional homesteads, and crater lakes en route. Stop for lunch in Fort Portal, a charming town near the Rwenzori Mountains. Afterward, continue to Kibale Forest National Park, home to one of Africa’s largest populations of chimpanzees. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge nestled on the edge of the forest. Spend the evening relaxing and enjoying the tranquil surroundings. Dinner will be served at the lodge as you prepare for the next day's trekking adventure.

Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi swamp walk

After an early breakfast, head to the Kibale park headquarters for a briefing by rangers before entering the forest for a chimpanzee trekking experience. Follow your guide through the dense jungle, listening for chimp calls and observing these intelligent primates up close as they feed, groom, and play. Return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-run conservation area rich in biodiversity. Enjoy a guided nature walk to spot monkeys, birds (like the great blue turaco), and other wildlife. Return for dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Arrive in the late afternoon or evening, marking the end of your memorable 3-day chimpanzee trekking safari. Drop-off will be at your preferred hotel or the airport, in time for your onward travel or evening rest.
