Today, your guide will take you on a half-day cultural tour, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, which commemorates the victims of the 1994 genocide.

After lunch, you will be transferred to Kigali International Airport for check-in and your flight to Nairobi, Kenya. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel, where you will spend the night as you prepare for the next stage of your safari.

You will be based at a lodge or hotel in Nairobi, with the rest of the day at your leisure. You may choose to visit the Nairobi National Museum, explore Nairobi National Park, or simply rest and relax at your hotel.

Visiting Nairobi National Park is a surreal experience, where else can you see free-roaming wildlife with city skyscrapers as a backdrop? Lions are among the main attractions, and the park is one of the best places in Kenya to see rhinos. Look out for giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, hippo and crocodile. Despite its small size, the park is home to a remarkable diversity of wildlife.

This morning's transfer to the next part of your safari also doubles as a game drive, with opportunities to spot wildlife along the way. Explore Ol Pejeta Conservancy on a guided game drive in search of the Big Five.

There is a good chance of seeing lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo at Ol Pejeta, which lies on the Laikipia Plateau. The conservancy is one of the best places in Kenya to see rhino, and although leopards are elusive, all five species can be found here. Other wildlife highlights include cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes and zebras. With more than 500 bird species recorded, the birdlife is equally impressive.

Ol Pejeta also offers the rare opportunity to see the world's last two surviving northern white rhinos as well as a sanctuary for rescued chimpanzees. Its landscapes range from sweeping savannah grasslands to riverine woodland.

Samburu National Reserve is a remarkable destination that often feels less crowded than parks in southern Kenya.
