Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Today, your safari takes you to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most exciting wildlife spots! The Tarangire River runs through the park, attracting giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and buffaloes —along with the lions that follow them. You’re almost certain to see these majestic predators!

During the dry season, the river becomes the only water source for miles, drawing huge elephant herds. Tarangire has Northern Tanzania’s largest elephant population for much of the year (especially June–October and December–March). These gentle giants aren’t shy and often come close to safari vehicles —completely safe, as they have no natural enemies and are simply curious.

You may spot Maasai herders with their livestock, a testament to the harmonious coexistence of people and wildlife.

Upon entering the Serengeti, you’ll immediately be struck by its breathtaking landscapes – vast golden plains stretching as far as the eye can see. This park is home to the great migration, where millions of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles traverse the plains in search of greener pastures.

Enjoy an afternoon game drive, tracking the park’s famous residents, including lions, cheetahs, elephants, and hippos. As the sun sets, head to your lodge or tented camp in the heart of the Serengeti for dinner and a peaceful night under the African stars.
