Morning: Pickup from your hotel, airport, or ferry terminal in Dar es Salaam. Depart early to ensure you have ample time to enjoy the drive (approximately 5–6 hours).
• Midday: Arrive at Mikumi National Park. A light lunch (or pre-packed lunch box) is provided during the road journey.
• Afternoon: Check into your lodge or camp just outside (or within) Mikumi. Embark on a late afternoon game drive. Traverse the park’s open plains and scenic waterholes where you can see elephants, lions, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, impalas, and a rich birdlife that includes species like the Racket Tailed Roller and Pale-billed Hornbill. As the sun sets, witness animals gathering at water sources such as hippo pools.
• Evening: Enjoy dinner and settle into your overnight lodge accommodations at Mikumi Wildlife Camp or another local lodge.
