Day 1

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

We’ll pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and set off on a scenic two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. As we leave the bustling city behind, you'll watch the landscape transform—from Arusha’s urban sprawl to expansive plains dotted with traditional Maasai villages.

Upon entering the park, you'll encounter the Tarangire River, flanked by majestic acacia and baobab trees. Wildlife frequently gathers here throughout the day, especially during the dry season, when thousands of animals migrate from the Maasai steppe in search of water. This seasonal movement creates incredible opportunities to spot a wide variety of species in a relatively short time.

We’ll pause for a picnic lunch at one of the park’s designated areas, where you can enjoy sweeping views of the Tarangire River. Just be sure to guard your meal—curious monkeys are always on the lookout for an easy snack!

In the late afternoon, we’ll make our way back to Arusha.

Day 2

Materuni Waterfalls

Materuni Waterfalls

After pick-up by our driver, you head to Materuni village and the waterfalls. Follow the tropical trails under the banana canopy while listening to some thrilling, legendary stories about villagers living on the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. Enjoy the forest’s flora and fauna - rich birdlife, beautiful butterflies, and a number of medicinal plants. You will see spectacular views of Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro on the way to the waterfalls.

Upon arrival at the magnificent waterfalls, take beautiful pictures and start descending back to the village. Eat a locally-prepared lunch and learn about some of the local history and traditions. Enjoy seeing the coffee plantations of the local Chagga tribe where the villagers will demonstrate some of the processes involved in coffee farming and handling. You will get an opportunity to prepare and drink your own local coffee.

In the evening, you will be transferred to Arusha or the airport.
