Day 1

Your day begins early with a 7:00 am pickup from your hotel in Arusha town, followed by a scenic drive to Arusha National Park. Covering an area of 137 km², the park boasts a rich variety of landscapes — from open savannah and acacia woodlands to lush Afromontane rainforest and alpine vegetation, resembling that of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Both the park and Arusha town take their name from the Wa-Arusha people, the area's indigenous inhabitants. The park is characterized by four remarkable features: the Ngurdoto Crater, the Momela Lakes, highland forest, and the striking Mount Meru (elevated at 4,575 meters).

Despite its compact size, the park is home to diverse wildlife such as colobus and vervet monkeys, bushbucks, buffaloes, red forest duikers, elephants, giraffes, and hippos. It is also a haven for bird enthusiasts, with a wide variety of waterfowl and other bird species.
