3-Day Pilanesberg Luxury Safari at Ivory Tree Game Lodge

Arrival and first game drive

Your private driver picks you up at your hotel after breakfast, or at the airport. It is a 3-hour drive to the lodge, and check-in is at 3 pm. Each standard room is beautifully decorated with African-inspired décor. They also feature an outdoor sitting area, and a further range of amenities for your pleasure. Each room has an en-suite bathroom, with the adventurous offer of an outdoor shower. Guests can enjoy 2 game drives daily in the Pilanesberg National Park during the morning and evening. Kids under 6 cannot join the game drives. The game drives will take between 3 and 4 hours, with a sundowners stop at sunset and a coffee stop in the morning. Make use of the Amani Spa & Wellness area, and enjoy dinner prepared by the lodge's talented chefs as a fusion of African and international cuisine.

Morning and afternoon game drive

Pilanesberg National Park is a sought-after wildlife destination in a malaria-free zone. The park is home to the Big Five and is only 2 hours from Johannesburg. The unique biosphere of the Pilanesberg National Park is home to one of the country’s most famous wildlife areas. The park is set in an ancient volcanic crater. This well-stocked reserve has a dramatic landscape that supports a wide variety of plants, animals and birds. Come join and let’s tick off some of the animals on your list to see together.

You will leave on your morning game drive and return after 3 to 4 hours for breakfast. Your qualified nature guide will show you and the rest of the group the animals that cross our path in this amazing wildlife space. You get to spend some time at the beautiful lodge and have lunch. Later that afternoon, you embark on an exciting sunset safari, with yet more chances of seeing animals and a sundowner experience before returning to the lodge for dinner.

Today, enjoy your last early morning game drive and return for breakfast. Check-out is at 11 am. You will arrive at O.R. Tambo by 2:30 pm.
