Set off early in the morning to descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a volcanic caldera hosting a dense concentration of wild animals. This destination functions as an ecosystem offering wildlife viewing across open savannahs, lush forests, and soda lakes.
Spend the day exploring the crater floor with good chances of witnessing the Big Five, including the black rhino. You will enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool before ascending the crater walls later in the afternoon to return to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Afterward, visit the Datoga tribe, skilled pastoralists and blacksmiths, to observe their traditional metal-crafting methods and rich home life. After an insightful cultural exchange and a hot lunch, spend the afternoon relaxing at your lodge or exploring the peaceful landscapes around the lake before dinner.
