Day 1

Nairobi - Ol Pejeta Conservancy

We will pick you up from the airport or your hotel in Nairobi at 7:00 am and begin the four-hour (216 km) drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Stop at the equator for a short break, a photo opportunity, and to learn about the Coriolis effect. Enjoy the scenic drive through central Kenya before arriving at the park and going on a game drive until 1:00 pm. Enjoy a meal before heading out for an afternoon game drive, where you’ll spot the “Big Five:" lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino.

Later you’ll visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where you can see rescued chimpanzees. Explore the “Endangered Species Enclosure,” home to the last remaining two northern white rhinos in the world, at an extra cost of $70 USD per person. You will exit the park at 5:00 pm and drive to your accommodations.

Day 2

After breakfast, you’ll check out and drive to Lake Nakuru with a stopover at Thomson Falls. This is a breathtaking 74-meter (243 ft) waterfall on the Ewaso Ng'iro River, located near Nyahururu, Kenya. Discovered in 1883 by Scottish geologist Joseph Thomson, the falls are surrounded by lush vegetation and offer stunning views of the gorge below. You will take photos and enjoy the views for about 10–15 minutes. Proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park and arrive in time for lunch at the lodge, where you can watch animals grazing in the park. After lunch, continue with a game drive until 5:30 pm, then exit the park and drive to your accommodations.

After breakfast, you will be ready to drive to the Masai Mara, a roughly 4.5-hour journey. You’ll arrive at the Mara in time for lunch and check in. Have some time to relax before your afternoon game drive at 3:00 pm, which lasts until sunset. Later you’ll return to your lodge or camp for dinner, a bonfire, and your overnight stay.

Option 3: Hot air balloon safari (extra cost of $450 USD per person). This includes a celebratory champagne bush breakfast at the landing site. You will enjoy a sit-down breakfast served by waiting staff, featuring a full hot breakfast and chilled sparkling wine or champagne. After breakfast, continue with a game drive until the midday lunch break. The afternoon game drive begins at 3:00 pm and continues until sunset. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the camp.
