Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha, you’ll be warmly greeted by your guide and transferred to your accommodation in the city. Take time to relax, enjoy the garden setting, and prepare for your safari adventure ahead. Optional city exploration or a visit to the local Maasai market can be arranged depending on your arrival time.

Day 2

Estimated Distance: ~120 km | Driving Time: ~2-2.5 hours

After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, home to massive elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and a diversity of wildlife drawn to the Tarangire River. Watch for lions, giraffes, zebras, and large troops of baboons during your game drive. In the late afternoon, head to Mto wa Mbu for dinner and overnight camping under the stars.

Spend the day exploring Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its groundwater forest, vibrant birdlife, and elusive tree-climbing lions. Keep an eye out for hippos, elephants, and flamingos along the lake, and enjoy a picnic lunch in the park. Return to your campsite in Mto wa Mbu for a second night surrounded by village life and scenic Rift Valley views.

Travel to the green foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro to explore the scenic Materuni Waterfalls, followed by a cultural coffee experience with the Chagga people. Learn how to roast, grind, and brew your own cup of traditional Arabica coffee. Afterward take an hour drive to Chemka Hotspring, enjoy a soak and swim in the crystal-clear Chemka Hot Springs, an oasis surrounded by palms and fig trees. Return to Arusha in the late afternoon for your departure or optional overnight.
