Day 1

Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

Your adventure begins early at 07:30 AM with a warm welcome and pickup from your Nairobi hotel or directly from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Set out on a scenic drive south through the Athi Plains and into Maasai country, where Amboseli National Park lies at the base of majestic Mount Kilimanjaro. Arrive in time for check-in at your lodge or camp, followed by a delicious lunch with breathtaking views of the open savannah.

After lunch, unwind and soak in the natural beauty around you, perhaps from your veranda or by the pool. At 3:00 PM, embark on your first thrilling game drive across Amboseli’s vast plains, home to elephants, zebras, giraffes, and predators. If skies are clear, the towering snow-capped Kilimanjaro makes a dramatic photographic backdrop. Return before dusk to your lodge for a hearty dinner, as the bush begins to hum with evening life. Later, settle into your room and drift to sleep to the distant sounds of wildlife under a blanket of African stars.

Amboseli National Park to Tsavo West National Park

After an early breakfast, check out and head out for a final morning game drive in Amboseli. The early hours offer the best chance to see predators returning from their night hunts and elephants grazing peacefully as the sun rises behind Kilimanjaro. Around 8:30 AM, you will exit the park and begin the scenic drive to Tsavo West National Park, known for its rugged landscapes, volcanic hills, and lush springs. This park offers a stark contrast to Amboseli with its rocky terrain, lava flows, and dramatic escarpments.

Upon arrival, check in to your lodge and enjoy lunch while taking in views of the surrounding wilderness. Spend the afternoon relaxing before heading out at 4:00 PM for an exciting evening game drive. Tsavo West is home to the famous "man-eaters of Tsavo," elusive leopards, elephants, rhinos, and abundant birdlife. Don’t miss a visit to Mzima Springs, where crystal-clear waters are home to hippos and crocodiles. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
