Ishasha sector & return to kampala
After an early breakfast at the lodge (around 6:30–7:00 am), you will check out and depart for the Ishasha Sector, located in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Ishasha is world-renowned for its rare tree-climbing lions, a unique behavior observed in only a few places in Africa. Unlike typical lions that rest on the ground, these lions are often seen lounging high up in large fig and acacia trees, especially during the hotter hours of the day.
Your experienced driver-guide will slowly navigate through the fig tree corridors and open savannah plains in search of:
• Tree-climbing lions
• Large herds of elephants
• Topis (commonly seen in Ishasha)
• Buffaloes
• Uganda kobs
• Other antelope species. After the drive, begin your return journey to Kampala or Entebbe with a lunch stop in Mbarara. Continue via the Uganda Equator crossing at Kayabwe Equator Crossing for photos and souvenirs before arriving in the evening, marking the end of your safari.
