Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and assisted through immigration. You will then be transferred to your hotel, where a tour briefing will take place in the lobby. Kigali, known for its cleanliness and scenic hills, offers a warm and peaceful welcome to visitors. After check-in, you will have time to relax and enjoy dinner at your hotel. The evening is free for you to unwind and prepare for the exciting days ahead.

After breakfast, you will check out and begin a guided tour of Kigali, a city that seamlessly blends modern development with deep cultural heritage. Your first stop is the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a moving tribute to the victims of the 1994 genocide. Through emotional exhibits and personal stories, the memorial provides insight into Rwanda’s history and resilience. Next, you will visit the Inema Arts Center, a creative space that showcases Rwanda’s emerging artists. For lunch, you will dine at Hotel de Mille Collines (also known as hotel Rwanda), a popular oriental restaurant known for its flavorful dishes. Afterward, you will embark on a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Musanze, the gateway to Volcanoes National Park. The journey offers breathtaking views of Rwanda’s rolling hills, lush tea plantations, and picturesque countryside. Arrive and check in at the lodge. Dinner and overnight.

The day starts with early breakfast before heading to the Volcanoes National Park Headquarters for a briefing about the gorilla trekking experience by 07h00. Once done by 08h00, you will be assigned to a trekking group and guided through the dense rainforest in search of a habituated gorilla family. The trek can take anywhere from one to several hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements. Once you find them, you will spend a magical hour observing their behaviors—watching juveniles play, silverbacks protect their family, and mothers care for their infants. This is one of the world’s most unforgettable wildlife encounters, offering an up-close view of these incredible creatures in their natural habitat. After trekking, you will return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest before visiting the Gorilla Guardians Village. This community initiative transforms the lives of former poachers by engaging them in cultural tourism. Later, return to the lodge.

06h30: After an early breakfast, attend a briefing for golden monkeys at 07h00 and then proceed to the trailhead by 08h00. Golden Monkey Trekking in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park offers a rare chance to see endangered golden monkeys in their bamboo forest habitat. With vibrant golden fur, these playful primates are fascinating to watch as they leap and forage, making this trek a unique wildlife experience amid stunning scenery. Once done, descend from the mountains and proceed to the lodge/resort for lunch. Have a brief rest. Check out. 15h30: Visit the Ellen Degeneres Campus for the Dian Fossey Fund for a self-guided tour. It’s a conservation center in Rwanda dedicated to gorilla research, education, and protecting mountain gorillas near Volcanoes National Park.
In the late afternoon, you will drive back to Kigali, arriving in time for check in, dinner and a restful night at your hotel.
