Flight to Mikumi

Start your journey with an early morning transfer from your hotel in Zanzibar or Arusha to the airport. Board your scheduled domestic flight typically departing around 07:30 hrs and land in Dar es Salaam or a nearby airstrip. Upon arrival, meet your safari guide and travel by 4×4 vehicle along the scenic route to Mikumi National Park (approximately 5–6 hours’ drive). After checking in at the park gate and enjoying lunch either packed or at a local restaurant head out for your first game drive in the afternoon. As the sun sets, arrive at your comfortable lodge or camp, such as Mikumi Adventures lodge, for dinner and an overnight stay.

Game Drive and Optional Walking Safari

Wake up early for an optional morning game drive, followed by a hearty breakfast at your lodge or camp. Spend the rest of the day exploring Mikumi’s vast savannahs on game drives, where you’ll have the chance to spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, impalas, hippos, wildebeests, and numerous bird species. Lunch will be served at your lodge (for those staying inside the park) or as a picnic in the bush. In the afternoon, opt for a guided walking safari led by an armed ranger a unique chance to learn about the park’s flora and fauna up close. Return in the evening to your accommodation for dinner and your second overnight stay in the wild.

Morning Game Drive and Return Flight
