Day 1

Nairobi - Masai Mara National Reserve

Early in the morning, you’ll meet our driver at your agreed upon pick-up point and be transferred to our office to begin your safari. You will be introduced to your Kenyan safari driver-guide and then depart for the Masai Mara National Reserve, with a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint to see the escarpment wall and another stop in Narok Town for an early lunch. Arrive at the Masai Mara campsite in the late afternoon for check in, a short rest, and an evening wildlife safari inside the reserve. Traverse the Mara in search of wild animals until late evening, watch the sunset, and then return to the campsite for dinner, a bonfire, and your overnight stay.

Have breakfast at the campsite, then depart with packed picnic lunches in hand for a full-day budget camping safari in the Masai Mara. The reserve is famous for the annual Great Migration of wildebeest and zebras from July to October and its large population of African wildlife species. Enjoy eight hours of thrilling game drives, with several up-close encounters with wildlife such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, elephants, gazelles, elands, topis, antelopes, hyenas, and waterbucks, among others. In the late evening, you’ll exit the reserve and return to the campsite for an optional activity, dinner, a bonfire, and your overnight stay.

Enjoy your African breakfast with great views of Amboseli National Park, the second most visited park after the Masai Mara, known for its large herds of African elephants and the stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, which is in Tanzania but clearly visible from Amboseli. Later you’ll leave the campsite for an eight-hour game drive. You’ll visit the Amboseli Viewpoint and enjoy your picnic lunch at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. Explore the park, including the swampy areas that attract many animals searching for water. The jumbo elephants graze and bathe in these swampy areas. You’ll exit the park late in the evening and drive back to the campsite for an optional activity, dinner, a bonfire, and your overnight stay.

You will travel from Amboseli Kimana Gate to Amboseli Mashenani Gate, with at least two hours of game driving in search of more African wildlife and birds. Exit Amboseli National Park and drive to the Kenya-Tanzania Namanga border for immigration clearance, then take a shuttle bus to Arusha Town. Arrive in the late afternoon, meet with your Tanzanian agent, and transfer to your hotel in Arusha for check in and your overnight stay.

Depart Arusha with picnic lunches in hand and drive to Tarangire National Park for a six-hour game drive. Tarangire National Park runs along two rivers that attract a wide variety of African wildlife and bird species. After a memorable safari in Tarangire, exit the park and drive to a campsite in Lake Manyara for dinner, a bonfire, and your overnight stay.
