You’ll be picked up from your Arusha hotel and transferred to the Momella Gate of Arusha National Park, where you’ll go through the necessary pre-climb formalities.
Today’s hiking takes you across the open grasslands of the park in the company of an armed ranger. As you’re inside a national park, you’ll have an excellent chance of spotting game such as elephants, giraffes, buffalo, monkeys, and much more during the day.
In the afternoon, you’ll begin to climb into the rainforest, where you’ll overnight in the Miriakamba huts.

Day 2

Miriakamba To Saddle Hut
Today’s hike takes you out of the rainforest and into a more open landscape, with big patches of heather and scrub across the hills. Walking along the ridge of Mount Meru’s crater, the views of the crater and the Ash Tray below are incredible. If you're up for it, you can also climb up to Little Mount Meru for a wide view over Arusha and the land around it. It’s a rewarding option if you’ve got the energy.

Day 3
Saddle Hut to Socialist Point and Descent To Arusha
Saddle Hut to Socialist Point and Descent To Arusha
You'll start your day just after midnight for the final push to Mt. Meru’s summit. The trail is tough and takes you past Rhino Point and Cobra Point, across volcanic ground, before reaching Socialist Point. From there, you’ll catch a beautiful sunrise over Arusha. After a short rest, you’ll begin your descent back to Momella Gate, where your driver will be waiting to take you to your hotel in Arusha.
