Fly to Nyerere & Day and Night Game Drives

Your driver will collect you from your Zanzibar hotel and transfer you to the airport for your flight to Mtemere Airstrip in Nyerere National Park. Meet your safari guide and set off in an open-sided 4x4 to explore the park’s varied landscapes and look for elephants, giraffes, buffalo, lions and birdlife. Enjoy a packed lunch and continue wildlife viewing before returning to Selous Mapumziko Lodge to freshen up. In the evening, head out for a guided night game drive in an authorized safari area, with dinner served in the bush. Discover a different side of the wilderness after sunset; wildlife sightings vary naturally. Return to the lodge for your overnight stay. Departure times and the night-drive schedule will be confirmed with your guide.

Bush Walk, Boat Safari & Village Visit

Start early with a guided bush walk accompanied by an armed ranger, discovering animal tracks, plants and the smaller wonders of the bush. Walking participation follows the ranger’s age and safety requirements. After breakfast, enjoy a boat safari on the Rufiji River, watching for hippos, crocodiles and birds along the banks. Return to the lodge for lunch and visit a nearby Maasai or Mloka village for an introduction to local life and culture. Transfer to Mtemere Airstrip for your return flight to Zanzibar, where your driver will take you back to your hotel. The order and timing of the activities will be coordinated with your flight schedule.
