Zanzibar to Selous via Dar es Salaam & Boat Safari

Our professional driver will pick you up in Dar es Salaam, from where you’ll begin your scenic drive to Selous (approximately 4–5 hours), passing coastal towns, villages, and rich landscapes along the way. Upon arrival at your lodge in the afternoon, check in, enjoy lunch, and prepare for a sunset boat safari along the Rufiji River. Here, you’ll have the chance to spot hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species while watching the sun set over the water. As the day winds down, return to camp for dinner and a peaceful night in the tranquil bush.

After an early breakfast, you’ll set out on a full-day game drive across the vast wilderness of Selous Game Reserve, one of Africa’s largest protected areas. With a packed lunch provided, you’ll explore different habitats ranging from open plains and woodland to swamps and rivers. Keep your eyes peeled for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and the elusive African wild dog. Your experienced guide will help track wildlife and share insights into the reserve’s ecosystem. As the day winds down, you’ll return to the camp for dinner and another night in the tranquil bush.

Bush Walk & Fly-out to Zanzibar

Start the day with an early morning walking safari led by an armed ranger, offering you the rare opportunity to explore the African bush on foot and learn about animal tracks, plants, and smaller wildlife often missed during drives. After the walk, return to camp for a hearty breakfast before checking out and transferred to the Selous airstrip for your scheduled flight to Zanzibar.
