After breakfast, you’ll drive for about an hour to reach Lake Manyara National Park, beautifully set at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Once inside the park, you’ll embark on a half-day game drive through diverse landscapes of forest, open plains, swamps, and the shimmering alkaline lake itself. This park is renowned for its large herds of elephants, abundant birdlife including thousands of flamingos, pods of hippos wallowing in the water, and the rare and famous tree-climbing lions resting in acacia branches. On the final day, after an early breakfast, you’ll descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a thrilling half-day game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers a rich concentration of wildlife within its natural enclosure, including black rhinos, elephants, lions, hyenas, hippos, zebras, and flamingos gathered around the soda lake. Your guide will help you explore the crater floor’s diverse habitats — from open grasslands to swamps and forests — maximizing your chances of spotting the Big Five. After a picnic lunch at the scenic Hippo Pool area, you’ll ascend from the crater and begin your drive back to Arusha (approximately 3–4 hours).
