Day 1

Arusha to Serengeti National Park

Arusha to Serengeti National Park

Your journey begins with an early morning departure from Arusha, heading toward Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, enjoy scenic views of the Great Rift Valley and pass traditional Maasai villages scattered across the highlands. As you traverse the Ngorongoro highlands, you’ll catch your first glimpse of the vast Ngorongoro Crater before continuing into the Serengeti. Upon entering the park, the landscape opens into iconic savannahs teeming with wildlife. You’ll stop for a picnic lunch inside the park before embarking on an afternoon game drive in the Central Serengeti — an area well known for its concentration of predators and large herbivore herds. Keep your eyes open for lions lounging on the kopjes, cheetahs scanning the grasslands, and elephants grazing under acacia trees. After your game drive, you’ll head to your lodge in the Serengeti for dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of nature.

You’ll also have the chance to spot giraffes, buffalo, hyenas, hippos, and countless bird species. Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive – Return to Arusha

After an early breakfast, you'll head toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the famous Ngorongoro Crater for a day game drive. This massive volcanic caldera is home to one of the highest densities of wildlife in Africa, offering a chance to spot all members of the Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and the rare black rhino — in a single day. The crater floor is a natural haven for animals, with grasslands, forests, and a large soda lake that attracts flamingos and hippos. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot near the hippo pool and continue your exploration of the crater until early afternoon. After your game drive, you’ll ascend the crater and begin your journey back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport — marking the end of your incredible 3-day safari.
