Today, you will meet your driver guide from Hutland Tours who will be waiting for you. The guide will then drive you to the hotel for an overnight. Depending on your arrival time, you may opt for an activity in Entebbe in the afternoon otherwise spend the time relaxing at the hotel.

Day 2

Drive to Kapchorwa and proceed to Sipi Falls then go straight to the lodge. In the afternoon, go for the trek through the Sipi Falls. The falls are characterized by 3 spectacular falls along the River Sipi. The region is predominantly panoramic with the view of the unique Karamoja valley. Along this walk, you will have a chance to have a coffee tour where you will learn about coffee and personally experience the processes of coffee growth, drying, and processing locally. The Sipi Falls area, found at the base of Mount Elgon is particularly famous for Bugisu Arabica Coffee produced and grown by the local farmers. Bugisu Arabica only grows at an altitude of between 1,600 and 1,900 meters; it is the main cash crop in the area and genuinely one of the finest coffee in the world. Later, you'll return for dinner and your overnight stay at your lodge.

This day will be characterised by giving back by interacting with the communities of the Sabiny and Kikuyu in our medical camps. The people living around Sipi Falls primarily belong to the Sabiny (also known as Sebei) and Bagisu tribes. These tribes are known for their distinct cultures and traditions, including the Bagisu's "Imbalu" circumcision ceremony, which is a cultural highlight. The local communities are also involved in agriculture, with coffee farming being a significant source of income.

Day 4

After breakfast, start the drive to Kidepo Valley National Park. The park lies in the rugged, semi-arid valleys between Uganda’s borders with Sudan and Kenya, some 700km from Kampala. Gazetted as a national park in 1962, it has a profusion of big game and hosts over 77 mammal species as well as around 475 bird species. Kidepo is Uganda’s most isolated national park and is also the most magnificent. Kidepo ranks among Africa’s finest wildernesses.

Day 5
Nature Walk, Game Drive and Community Visit
Nature Walk, Game Drive and Community Visit
You will have a morning nature walk in the park and thereafter, have a midmorning game drive. You will have a chance to see elephants, zebras, giraffes, huge herds of buffalo, warthogs, duikers, Jackson’s hartebeests, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hundreds of bird species. Other animals that may be seen roaming around include jackal, Roan antelope, waterbuck, eland, oribi, klipspringer, and lions. The park also boasts of having the highest concentration of birds endemic to Uganda like the ostrich, kori bustard, vulture, pygmy falcon, hornbill, eagle, and more. Later in the afternoon, go for a cultural tour in the Karamajong community. Here you will spend a wonderful evening with the Karamajong people and have an insight into their way of life and beliefs. Later on, you'll return to the lodge.

Drive to the legendary Murchison Falls National Park. This park is one of Uganda’s largest conservation areas and boasts of 76 mammal species and 451 bird species that thrive in the open savannah and tropical forests. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park.

After an early breakfast, proceed to have a game drive. Drive in the open African savanna in search of lions, leopards, hyenas, buffalo, elephants, Jackson hartebeests, oribis, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, and enjoy spotting various bird species. This is a beautiful drive across the savannah, Borassus palm forest, and grassland down to Lake Albert where the Albert Nile heads north. In the afternoon, go for a boat ride up the Nile to Murchison Falls. Enjoy these spectacular falls where the Nile squeezes through a 7-meter gap. Thereafter, drive back to the lodge.

Day 10-11

Murchison Falls National Park is surrounded by diverse ethnic groups, including the Banyoro, Alur, and Acholi people. The Banyoro primarily reside in the southern part of the park, while the Alur are found in the northwestern areas and the Acholi in the northeastern section. These communities live in close proximity to the park and rely on its resources, sometimes leading to conflicts with wildlife conservation efforts. We will be visiting medical camps in these communities.

Today, you will drive to visit the top of the falls. Thereafter, drive to Kibale National Park, have a stopover in Fort Portal, the capital town of Toro kingdom that lies on the shadow of the Rwenzori Mountains, the biggest mountain range in Africa passing by tea plantations along the way. In the afternoon you will arrive at your accommodation.

After breakfast, you will go for Chimpanzee tracking and enjoy a wonderful forest experience with these habituated chimpanzees. These engaging apes are closest to human beings and are great to watch being playful both on the ground and in the trees. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, go for a walk in the Bigodi wetland where you will have a chance to see different primates and bird species, especially the Great Blue turaco popular in this area while getting to know the communities nearby and their projects.

The areas surrounding Kibale Forest National Park are primarily inhabited by the indigenous Batoro people and Bakiga immigrants. These communities rely on the forest for resources like food, firewood, and building materials, while also engaging in activities like farming and tourism. The increasing population around the park has led to both economic benefits through tourism and increased pressure on the forest's resources. We will be visiting medical camps for these communities.

Drive to the southern part of Queen Elizabeth -Ishasha. This sector is notably known for its resident tree climbing Lions that are an exceptional attraction in the park. Queen Elizabeth National Park is surrounded by numerous communities, some of which were historically displaced or impacted by the park's establishment. While the park attracts tourists globally, many local residents feel they haven't benefited from its presence. The communities surrounding the park, such as those in Kasese, Kamwenge, Rubirizi, and Rukungiri, are a mix of traditional occupants and those who have settled in the area. We will be holding camps in these communities.

You will have a brief game drive in search of tree-climbing Lions. Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The park is home to the largest population of mountain gorillas and hosts a variety of spectacular birds including 23 of the 24 Albertine Rift endemic bird species including the Blue-throated Broadbill, bar-tailed Trogon, and other beautiful forest species. You shall go to bed earlier this evening so that you are well rested for a thrilling experience of gorilla tracking the next day. Proceed to the lodge for check-in.

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters where you will have an orientation and meet your guides for the day. Trekking the Mountain Gorilla is one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The trek will take between 2 and 7 hours, but is well worth the effort. You will be led by an experienced ranger who will tell you interesting facts about flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas. The trekking is a thrill and yet challenging as you hike through the forest to the Gorillas and once you reach a gorilla family, you will have a chance to observe the family at close proximity for an hour.

The area around Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is primarily inhabited by the Batwa and Bakiga people. The Batwa are traditionally forest dwellers and pygmies, while the Bakiga are an agricultural Bantu ethnic group.
The Batwa, also known as the Twa, are believed to be among the earliest inhabitants of the region. They lived in the Bwindi forest for centuries, relying on hunting and gathering for their livelihood. However, with the establishment of the national park, they were displaced from their ancestral lands and now live in settlements on the fringes of the forest. We will be having medical camps in these communities.

Today, you will proceed to Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest of Ugandan National Parks. As you enter, the park, you will enjoy a game drive in search of animals like impalas, zebras, elands, and many other antelopes. Proceed to the lodge for an overnight.

Day 25-26

Early in the morning have a guided nature walk, this walk you will see giraffes, zebras and waterbucks and many more. The afternoon, medical camps begin. The primary ethnic group around Lake Mburo is the Banyankole, known for their pastoral lifestyle centered around Ankole cattle. They traditionally engage in cattle keeping, farming, and fishing, relying on the lake and its resources. The area is also known for the Ankole Cultural Centre, where visitors can experience their traditions and way of life. We will hold medical camps in the underserved villages.

On this day you will drive back to Entebbe and have an afternoon of relaxation with a boat cruise on Lake Victoria to visit Ngamba Island. Surrounded by the peaceful waters of Lake Victoria, Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary is home to 52 orphaned and rescued chimpanzees. Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Wildlife Conservation Trust (Chimpanzee Trust), an NGO, is responsible for all aspects of the sanctuary. Deeply committed to and involved in both field conservation and community education, we work closely with the Ugandan government and wildlife authorities. We offer both day Trips (Half and Full day) and overnight at Ngamba Ecolodge to the sanctuary which provides an exceptional opportunity to closely observe these fascinating great apes in our unique setting.

Located on the northern shore of Lake Victoria, Mabamba Swamp is just 12km west of Entebbe. Mabamba will captivate birders and non-birders alike. The wetland is Uganda’s most important birding site, and it is home to over 300 bird species. Mabamba is an area of immense ecological importance. In 2006, the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands awarded Mabamba Swamp the status of a ‘Wetland of International Importance’ since it contains globally threatened species. Later, drive back to Entebbe International airport and connect with your onward evening journey back home.
