As you enter the park, the towering baobab trees and rolling savannah welcome you into a wildlife haven known especially for its dense elephant population. Tarangire – Drive to Ndutu (Ngorongoro Conservation Area)
After breakfast, your journey continues as you drive north and then west, passing through Karatu and entering the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The landscape begins to shift from woodland to open plains as you descend toward the Ndutu region, located between the southern Serengeti and Ngorongoro. This area is a hotspot during the Great Migration calving season, where thousands of wildebeest give birth on the nutrient-rich plains. Depending on your arrival time, you’ll enjoy either a picnic or lodge lunch, followed by your first game drive in the Ndutu area. Expect to encounter vast herds of wildebeest and zebras, often closely followed by predators like lions and cheetahs. You'll settle into your tented lodge in Ndutu for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of the savannah.

Day 3
Safari in Ndutu – Great Migration Calving Season
Safari in Ndutu – Great Migration Calving Season
Today is dedicated to exploring the rich and dynamic ecosystem of Ndutu. You’ll begin your game drive early, just after sunrise, when the wildlife is most active. Your guide will take you across a variety of terrains — acacia woodlands, open grasslands, and the shores of Lake Ndutu — to follow the migration herds and observe the calving season in action. This is a prime opportunity to witness dramatic predator-prey interactions, as cheetahs, lions, and hyenas take advantage of the vulnerable young wildebeest. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed in a shaded, scenic area within the conservation area. You’ll continue game viewing into the afternoon, returning to camp as the sun sets. In the evening, relax around the campfire, share stories, and enjoy a warm meal under the stars.

Ndutu – Ngorongoro Crater – Return to Arusha
On your final safari day, you'll depart early from Ndutu and ascend into the Ngorongoro Highlands. After checking in at the park gate, you'll descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations. The Crater floor offers a microcosm of East African wildlife, including a high chance to spot the Big Five — lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and the elusive black rhino. Flamingoes, hippos, and hyenas are also common sightings in this lush volcanic caldera. After a half-day game drive and picnic lunch near a hippo pool, you’ll ascend out of the Crater and begin the drive back to Arusha, arriving by early evening. Your safari ends with a drop-off at your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport, depending on your travel plans.
