Welcome to Kenya - A Safari Like No Other

Welcome to Kenya - A Safari Like No Other

Our African journey begins in Nairobi, where we are personally welcomed by Dr. Matt Jensen at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. From the moment we step off the plane, we’re not just travelers—we’re part of something meaningful. We’ll be transferred to the Hilton Garden Inn Nairobi Airport, a modern and comfortable hotel chosen for its convenience and quiet elegance—an ideal place to rest and reset after a long journey.

Later that evening, we gather for an informal orientation where we’ll meet our fellow adventurers and get a glimpse of what lies ahead. As Dr. Jensen shares the heart behind Inspire and Explore, we begin to understand that this is not just a tour of Africa’s wildlife—but a journey inward, toward clarity, connection, and renewal.

From the Heights of Lion Hill – Finding Perspective in Lake Nakuru

We depart our Nairobi hotel after breakfast and begin a scenic drive toward Lake Nakuru National Park, pausing along the way at the spectacular Great Rift Valley overlook. After checking into our lodge and enjoying lunch, we set out on our first exciting game drive in search of flamingos, rhinos, and elusive leopards. That evening, following dinner, Dr. Jensen delivers the first inspirational talk of the journey, titled “From the Heights of Lion Hill – Finding Perspective,” an invitation to begin looking at both nature—and life—from a broader, more meaningful vantage point.

The next day includes morning and afternoon game drives across Nakuru’s stunning terrain, home to rhinos, giraffes, and thousands of flamingos. During the afternoon game drive, we make our way to the top of Lion Hill, where Dr. Jensen shares a brief thought—tying nature’s grandeur to our own inner perspective, and inviting us to slow down and take in the bigger picture.

Strength in the Struggle – Lessons from the Rhino Sanctuary at Ol Pejeta

This morning, we set out on a scenic drive toward Ol Pejeta Conservancy, nestled at the foot of Mount Kenya. Along the way, we watch the scenery shift to green highlands and farmland. Upon arrival, we enjoy lunch and settle into our accommodations, surrounded by sweeping views and quiet wilderness. In the afternoon, we visit the Rhino Sanctuary, home to the last two northern white rhinos, and learn how resilience and hope thrive even in the face of extinction—followed by a game drive through the conservancy.

The next day begins with a short drive to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary and a morning game drive, followed by a relaxed lunch back at camp. That afternoon, we set out for another game drive across this wildlife-rich reserve. In the evening, we gather fireside for Dr. Jensen’s talk, “Finding Strength in the Struggle – Lessons from the Rhino Sanctuary,” where he shares how adversity in life—and in the wild—can be a powerful teacher of growth, character, and courage.

The Flow of the Ewaso Nyiro River – Embracing What Life May Bring in Samburu

We begin the day with a scenic drive north into the wild landscapes of Samburu National Reserve, where arid hills and riverine forests replace the green highlands behind us. After arriving, we check into our lodge, enjoy lunch, and take time to rest. In the afternoon, we set out on our first game drive in Samburu, where we may spot elephants at the riverbanks and unique northern species like the Grevy’s zebra and reticulated giraffe.

The next day begins with a morning game drive as the reserve comes alive. After breakfast, we visit a traditional Samburu village, gaining insight into their vibrant culture. We return to the lodge for lunch and a bit of relaxation before heading out again for an afternoon game drive. After dinner, we gather on the sundowner deck for Dr. Jensen’s evening presentation, “The Flow of the Ewaso Nyiro River – Embracing What Life May Bring,” a reflection on how, like the river, we can learn to navigate life’s shifting paths with grace and purpose.

Under the Mara Stars – Finding Clarity in the Wildreness of Life

This morning, we board a small safari aircraft for a scenic one-hour flight to the iconic Masai Mara, soaring above rolling hills and patchwork savannahs. Upon landing on a remote bush airstrip, we are greeted by our safari driver and transferred to our lodge—where the next unforgettable chapter of our journey begins. After lunch and a bit of rest, we head out for our first thrilling game drive in this legendary reserve, home to lions, elephants, cheetahs, and the awe-inspiring spectacle of the Great Migration (seasonally).

Over the next two days, we enjoy morning and afternoon game drives that immerse us in the rhythm of life on the open plains. Each evening, we gather under the stars for two final reflections with Dr. Jensen: “Finding Clarity in the Wilderness of Life” and “Savoring Every Day.” These talks draw on the lessons of nature and movement—showing how peace and insight can often be found not in stillness, but in learning to move with life’s wild and wonderful flow.
