Transfer to Akagera National Park

After an early breakfast, your guide will warmly welcome you and start the journey to Akagera National Park. You'll watch the sunrise over Rwanda’s rolling hills as you travel. Upon arrival, you'll dive into a thrilling game drive, spotting elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and more. In the afternoon, you'll enjoy a tranquil boat safari on Lake Ihema, home to hippos, crocodiles, and vibrant birds. You'll end the day with dinner and relaxation at your lodge.

Drive to Nyungwe Forest via Cultural Stops

Depart Akagera and journey to Nyungwe Forest. En route, stop in Nyanza to explore the King’s Palace, a historic site showcasing Rwanda’s royal heritage. Continue to Butare for a visit to the Ethnographic Museum, offering deep insight into Rwandan culture and traditions. After the visits, proceed through scenic hills to arrive at Nyungwe for overnight.

Chimpanzee Trekking & Colobus Monkey Experience

You’ll set off at 5:00 AM into the heart of Nyungwe Forest for an unforgettable chimpanzee trekking experience. Guided by expert trackers, you’ll walk through the lush rainforest to observe these incredible primates as they play, feed, and interact in their natural habitat.

After the trek, you’ll return to the lodge for lunch and some time to relax.

In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a Colobus monkey trekking experience, where you’ll encounter one of Africa’s largest troops of Angolan black-and-white colobus monkeys. Departure to Volcanoes National Park

After an early breakfast, you will depart from Nyungwe and drive towards Volcanoes National Park. If you are lucky, you may spot vervet monkeys in their natural habitat while exploring the islands. After lunch and the boat excursion, continue your scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park for the next exciting part of your safari.

After an early breakfast, head to Kinigi Park Headquarters for the 7:00 AM briefing. Your guides will assign you a gorilla family and explain the trekking guidelines. Begin your 2–5-hour trek through the lush mountain forest to encounter the gorillas in their natural habitat and enjoy one unforgettable hour with them. Afterward, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus, then drive to Kigali.
