Stop for a relaxed pit break at Trout Tree Restaurant in Nanyuki or a similar place (your guide will let you know), perfect for stretching your legs over a cup of fresh Kenyan coffee.

Arrive in Samburu in the afternoon and check into your lodge. Stop for a picnic lunch beneath an acacia tree before continuing your search. After breakfast, drive 3.5 hours south to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Break the trip with a stop at Nanyuki town’s Java House or a similar place (your guide will let you know) a clean, safe spot for coffee, snacks, and restrooms.

Arrive at Ol Pejeta just in time for lunch and check-in. Later, explore the sanctuary on an afternoon game drive—home to the Big 5, but most movingly, the last two northern white rhinos. You'll also visit the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya, where you’ll witness their intelligence and stories of survival.
