Transfer from Kigali to Nyungwe & Visit King’s Palace Museum, Morning: Depart Kigali by 4×4 or minibus and drive south toward Nyungwe Forest. En route, stop in Nyanza to visit the King’s Palace Museum, showcasing the traditional and colonial palaces of King Mutara III Rudahigwa, the famous Inyambo cows, and guided cultural insights, Lunch: Enjoy lunch in or near Nyanza town along the way.

Afternoon: Continue the journey into the highland rainforest of Nyungwe Forest National Park. Arrive at your lodge in time to check in, relax, and enjoy dinner before overnight stay.

Rise early after breakfast and head to the Nyungwe Park headquarters for a ranger briefing. You’ll be grouped into teams of up to eight for a guided trek through montane rainforest in search of chimp communities. The trek may last 2–5 hours depending on how far chimps are followed by up to one hour of observing them in their natural habitat

Return to the lodge for lunch then walk the famous 160 m canopy bridge, suspended about 60–70 m above the forest floor offering panoramic views of the treetops and wildlife below, End the afternoon relaxing at your lodge.

Begin with an early breakfast and head to Nyungwe’s ranger station for briefing before setting off to track black-and-white colobus monkeys—home to one of Africa’s largest troops (300–400 individuals) in Nyungwe. Once found, enjoy up to one hour observing them in the canopy. Following the trek, return to the lodge to check out, then drive back to Kigali with a mid‑route lunch before drop-off at your hotel or airport.
