An early morning departure takes you from bustling Nairobi into the serene setting of Mt. Kenya National Park, arriving at your lodge in time for lunch.

Spend the afternoon overlooking the waterhole and saltlick, which presents a constant ballet of wildlife and sights of some of Kenya’s most cherished birds, including the Violet-backed Starling, Green Pigeon, and Meyer’s Parrot (Brown Parrot). Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, travel across the equator into Kenya’s arid and desert-like Northern Frontier District, arriving at your lodge in Samburu Game Reserve in time for lunch.

Rise early and drive to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa. Begin your wildlife viewing right from your luxurious tented camp - its waterhole attracts a wide variety of game day and night. This afternoon, hop aboard an open-topped safari vehicle with your knowledgeable Kosen safari guide to spot both the endangered black and northern white rhino and their fellow brethren of the Big Five. The density of wildlife here is greater than any of Kenya’s national parks. While further tracking the rhinos, your guide will point out other rare species including Grevy's zebra and the Jackson's hartebeest. Visit the Sweetwater’s Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only sanctuary for chimps in Eastern Africa, and learn about its mission to provide lifelong refuge to orphaned and abused chimpanzees from central and Western Africa Gather for sundowners and take in the stunning views of Mount Kenya.

Early breakfast, then depart for a scenic drive to Lake Nakuru National Park in the Great Rift Valley, stopping at the breathtaking, famous Thompson's Falls; picnic lunch en route.
From the Greater and Lesser flamingos that cover the lake edge, joined by pelicans, herons, storks, and other wading birds, to the impressive African fish eagle circling overhead, few places in the world can match the splendor of the pink-rimmed (seasonal) shoreline of Lake Nakuru. Today you will awake to the exotic birdcalls in a magical new world with the aroma of Kenyan coffee brewing. We will meet at breakfast for a safari briefing driving to the local airport for our flight to the Masai Mara. We will arrive at camp with enough time to settle in before lunch with a little time to relax before we head out on our first game drive.

Your lodge is positioned to blend unobtrusively into the surrounding vegetation and has an authentic safari feel of days gone by. There is no better way to experience Africa than by spending a few nights under canvas and there is no better way to photograph than by camping in the heart of the Mara! Sitting close to the campfire at night, you will enjoy the starry African night and once safely escorted to your room by your Masai Warrior, you will be lulled asleep to the sound of grazing Hippo and roaring lion.

Rise early today. As the cool, fresh air fills your lungs you’ll feel invigorated and rejuvenated, ready for a great day on safari. Roll down the windows or stand up through the customized roof hatch and enjoy this unhindered 360 views, and the possibilities for what lies ahead.
We will spend this day in one of the richest predator areas of the Mara. However, this is one of the lushest reserves in Africa and we will probably see Elephants, Hippos, Masai giraffe, common zebra, gnu, impala, Thompson’s and Grant’s gazelles, Topi, Hartebeest, Black-backed jackal, spotted hyena and more during these three days.

Day 8

Masai Mara - Lake Naivasha

Masai Mara - Lake Naivasha

After breakfast you will check out and depart the Maasai Mara heading for Lake Naivasha. You will arrive at Lodge, check-in and have lunch.
The afternoon can be spent at your leisure, with several optional activities that include a boat ride, crescent island tour, or hiking at Hells Gate National Park.

Lake Naivasha is a beautiful freshwater lake, framed with thick papyrus. The lake’s waters are shallow with an average depth of five meters. The forests abound with bird life. Naivasha is known as a world class birding destination. The water attracts a wide range of game to the shores. You will see giraffe wandering among the acacia, buffalo wallowing in the swamps and hear Colobus monkeys calling from the treetops while hippo lazily float the day out in the shallows. Optional activities boat rides and visit the Cresent island.

After breakfast you will check-out and travel to Amboseli National Park. You will arrive at the Lodge where you will check-in and have lunch.
After lunch a game drive is planned where you will see elephant, antelope, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo and the elusive leopard. The View of the Mt Kilimanjaro in Amboseli national park

Nearly every visit within the park is framed by the majestic view of Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance... Later in the evening you will return to the Serena Lodge or Amboseli Sopa Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

This morning, have your cameras ready; our game run will take us deeper into the park. At dawn all the animals are moving looking for breakfast, which make it the most exciting time to view the wildlife. Watch the elephants, zebras and wildebeest along the salt pan trails. The cool morning hours make Amboseli ideal for early morning game viewing. Cheetah and lion are most active at this hour. The marsh areas are feeding grounds for the largest population of elephant in Kenya, while buffalo and hippo wallow in the swamps. The backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro makes for spectacular photography at both sunrise and sunset.
