After breakfast, depart from Karatu and drive into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a full-day game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater. Known as the world’s largest unflooded and unbroken caldera, this breathtaking natural wonder spans 20 km across, 600 m deep, and covers 300 km².

During your exploration, visit Lake Magadi, a large, shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner of the crater. Here, you may spot flamingos, hippos, and a variety of water birds, all set against the stunning crater backdrop. The crater floor is home to an abundant diversity of wildlife, including lions, elephants, zebras, wildebeest, and, with luck, the endangered black rhino.
