Arrival
Day 1
Depart Nairobi at 5:30 AM for an early morning drive north toward Ol Pejeta Conservancy, enjoying quiet roads and scenic views of central Kenya as dawn breaks. Arrive in the conservancy in the morning and proceed for a game drive during the most active wildlife hours. Ol Pejeta is home to the Big Five and the largest population of black rhinos in East Africa. You may encounter elephants, lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, Grevy’s zebras, giraffes, and abundant birdlife across the open plains. Later in the morning, visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary to learn about the rescue and rehabilitation of chimpanzees. Enjoy lunch at a lodge or a designated picnic site within the conservancy. After lunch, visit Baraka, the blind black rhino, and learn about his story and Ol Pejeta’s conservation work. Conclude with a short game drive before exiting and driving back to Nairobi, arriving in the evening. The journey offers rewarding photography moments, conservation insight, and memorable close encounters.
