Your safari adventure begins with a morning departure from Nairobi, traveling through the scenic central highlands toward Ol Pejeta Conservancy, nestled between the foothills of Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Ranges. Upon arrival, check into the luxurious Sweetwaters Serena Camp, set beside a wildlife-rich waterhole. After lunch and some relaxation, enjoy your first afternoon game drive, exploring the conservancy’s rich biodiversity. Highlights include sightings of black and white rhinos, elephants, lions, and more. You will also visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where you can see rescued chimpanzees in a semi-wild setting. Return to camp for dinner and overnight under the stars, with wildlife often visible just beyond your tent.

After an early breakfast, depart for the arid north of Kenya, passing through dramatic landscapes en route to Samburu National Reserve. The drive takes approximately 4–5 hours and offers a chance to observe the changing terrain from lush farmland to semi-arid savannah. Arrive in time for lunch at your tented camp Ashnil Samburu Camp or silmilar located along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River. In the afternoon, embark on your first game drive in Samburu, known for its "Special Five" the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and beisa oryx. The unique scenery, dotted with doum palms and red-earth plains, offers stunning photography opportunities. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Full Day in Samburu National Reserve

Spend a full day exploring Samburu National Reserve, with morning and afternoon game drives in open savannah and riverine forests. The reserve is home to elephants, lions, leopards, and large herds of antelope, with regular sightings of crocodiles and hippos in the Ewaso Nyiro River. Your guide will also share insights into the Samburu people's culture, and there’s an optional visit to a local village available upon request. In between drives, relax at the lodge and enjoy views of the wildlife visiting the riverbanks. The dramatic backdrop of rocky hills and acacia trees makes this one of Kenya’s most picturesque safari settings. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Expect to arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon, where your driver-guide will drop you at your hotel or at the airport for your onward flight. This marks the end of your unforgettable 4-day journey through Kenya’s diverse and wildlife-rich northern circuit.
