Day 2

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast at the hotel, you set off on a scenic drive through Uganda’s countryside through villages, tea plantations and rolling hills. The journey leads to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most popular wildlife destination. Upon arrival, check in into your lodge.
After lunch and some relaxation, the afternoon takes you to the Kazinga Channel for a thrilling boat cruise. Here your family gets up close with hippos yawning in the water, elephants cooling off along the shores, and countless birds. The channel is also home to crocodiles and fishing communities, making it both a wildlife and cultural highlight of your trip. Later in the evening is a game drive to spot predators like lions and leopards on the hunt, alongside large herds of elephants, buffaloes and antelopes grazing peacefully.

After breakfast, we make a short drive to Kyambura gorge for chimpanzee trekking. Chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge offers an unforgettable experience as you explore the lush, underground tropical forest and encounter a habituated community of chimpanzees in their natural habitat. After this thrilling adventure, we have lunch and exit Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey takes you through the Ishasha sector, a unique savanna area known for its rare tree-climbing lions. You will spot these lions lazily in giant fig trees. Continue through scenic hillsides and villages until you reach Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the endangered mountain gorillas.

This is the day you and your family has been waiting for, the once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking adventure. After an early breakfast, you head to the park headquarters for a briefing before setting off into the forest with your armed ranger guides. The trek through dense vegetation is an adventure, you come face-to-face with a gorilla family in their natural habitat. Watching the gentle giants interact, silverbacks, playful juveniles and nurturing mothers is an unforgettable experience. After this emotional encounter, receive your gorilla trekking certificates and return to your lodge to relax and reflect on the day’s adventure.

Family enjoys a traditional canoe ride, exploring the islands and learning about their fascinating history from local guides. Later, you can swim in the safe, bilharzia-free waters if interested, take nature walks or simply sit back and enjoy the breathtaking views of terraced hillsides surrounding the lake.
