Visit Diane Fossey Graves or Mount Bisoke Hiking

The choice depends on physical condition

For those with a high physical condition, we recommend hiking to Mount Bisoke, which is a great experience for young pupils. This is one of the eight volcanoes in the Virunga mountains range of the Albertine Rift, the western part of the East African Rift. The second option is to visit the Dian Fossey grave for those with a medium physical condition. This was an American lady who loved gorillas and fought for their survival against poachers. She studied the gorillas, and through her Dian Fossey International, she put patrols to protect the forest. Unfortunately, she was murdered by unknown people inside her cabin at Karisoke Research Centre. She was buried near her favorite gorilla digit.
