Day 1

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), you will be warmly welcomed by your professional driver-guide from Berngo Safaris and transferred to your hotel in Arusha town, the gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. The drive takes about one hour from Kilimanjaro Airport and offers your first views of the Tanzanian countryside, small villages, and coffee farms. After check-in at your lodge or hotel, you will relax and recover from your journey before receiving a short safari briefing from your guide who will explain the itinerary and what to expect during your adventure. Enjoy dinner and overnight in Arusha as you prepare for the exciting safari beginning the following morning.

Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, you will depart Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, a beautiful park known for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Upon arrival, you will begin your game drive through the park’s savannah landscapes and along the Tarangire River, which attracts many animals including elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and various antelope species. Predators such as lions and leopards may also be spotted resting in the shade of acacia trees. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park while surrounded by nature before continuing with an afternoon game drive exploring different areas of the park in search of more wildlife. In the late afternoon you will drive to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will begin your journey toward the world-famous Serengeti National Park, passing through the beautiful Ngorongoro Highlands with stunning views of rolling hills and Maasai villages along the way. As you enter the Serengeti ecosystem, the landscape opens into vast endless plains that support one of the greatest concentrations of wildlife in the world. You will start a game drive upon entering the park where you may encounter lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and many other animals roaming freely across the savannah. If visiting during migration season, you may witness part of the spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration. After a picnic lunch in the park, continue with an afternoon game drive before arriving at your tented camp in the Serengeti for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, you will depart the Serengeti and travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, one of Africa’s most remarkable natural wonders. Upon arrival, you will descend approximately 600 meters into the famous Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world and home to over 25,000 animals. During the game drive on the crater floor you may see lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, and if lucky the rare black rhinoceros. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool while watching hippos resting in the water. After an exciting afternoon of wildlife viewing, you will ascend the crater and drive to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 5

Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a scenic park located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. The park is famous for its diverse habitats, lush groundwater forests, and wildlife including elephants, giraffes, hippos, baboons, and the unique tree-climbing lions. During the game drive you will also have the chance to see many bird species around the lake, including flamingos and pelicans. After enjoying a picnic lunch and a final wildlife viewing experience, you will begin the drive back to Arusha where you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure, marking the end of your memorable Tanzania safari with Berngo Safaris.
