Day 1

Morning: Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your safari guide, who will give you a short briefing about your adventure ahead. You’ll then begin your journey to Amboseli National Park, a scenic 4–5 hour drive through the beautiful Kenyan countryside, offering your first taste of Africa’s vast landscapes.

Afternoon: Arrive at your lodge or camp in Amboseli just in time for lunch. After checking in and settling down, head out for your very first game drive. Amboseli is renowned for its impressive elephant herds and wide-open plains. You may also encounter lions, cheetahs, buffalo, giraffes, and a variety of antelope species—all with the breathtaking backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro towering above the horizon.

Evening: Return to your lodge for a delicious dinner and a relaxing evening under the African night sky. Overnight stay at your lodge or camp in Amboseli.

Day 2

Morning: After an early breakfast, set out for a full day of adventure in Amboseli. With plenty of time to explore, you’ll discover the park’s striking contrasts—from its vast, dry lakebed to the lush swamps that attract an abundance of wildlife.

Midday: Stop at the famous Observation Hill, where you’ll enjoy sweeping views of the entire park. From here, you can spot hippos wallowing in the swamps and admire the flurry of birdlife that makes Amboseli a paradise for birdwatchers.

Afternoon: Continue your game drive through different parts of the park. Keep your eyes peeled for cheetahs, lions, and other predators that roam these plains. With Amboseli’s rich variety of bird species and wide-open landscapes, every moment brings something new.

Evening: Return to your lodge for dinner and unwind after a day filled with incredible wildlife sightings and unforgettable scenery. Overnight stay in Amboseli.

Day 3

Morning: Enjoy one last early morning game drive in Amboseli before having breakfast.

Mid-day: Check out and begin the scenic drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. This is a longer travel day, with the drive taking approximately 6-7 hours. You'll pass through Nairobi and the Great Rift Valley, with a stop at a viewpoint for some great photos.

Afternoon: Arrive at Lake Nakuru, check in, and have a late lunch. Go on an introductory game drive in Lake Nakuru, known for its rhino sanctuary and stunning flamingo-filled lake.

Evening: Dinner and overnight at a lodge or camp inside the park.

Morning: An early morning game drive is the best time to see the rhinos, leopards, and other wildlife that are most active during the cooler hours. Return to the lodge for breakfast and check out. You'll then travel to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, a drive of about 4-5 hours.

Afternoon: Arrive in the Maasai Mara and have lunch. In October the Great Migration herds are typically beginning their return to the Serengeti from the Mara, offering a chance to witness the spectacular river crossings. Your first game drive in the Maasai Mara awaits, with a focus on finding the big cats and vast herds of wildebeest and zebra.

Full-Day Safari: Today is all about exploring the vast, wildlife-rich plains of the Maasai Mara. You’ll enjoy a full-day game drive, complete with a packed picnic lunch, so you can make the most of your time in the reserve and see as much as possible.

Great Migration Focus: Since it’s October, you’ll have the chance to spot the remaining herds of the Great Migration. Wildebeest and zebra roam the plains, and you may witness dramatic predator-prey interactions as lions, cheetahs, and other big cats take advantage of the abundance of animals. Your driver-guide will take you to the Mara River area, known for its famous river crossings, though the main crossings are usually finished by this time.

Evening: Return to your camp or lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening under the African sky. Overnight stay in the Maasai Mara.

Morning: This is a fantastic opportunity for a different kind of safari experience. You can choose from one of the following:
Hot Air Balloon Safari (Optional, at an extra cost): Wake up before dawn for a once-in-a-lifetime hot air balloon ride over the Maasai Mara. You'll witness the sunrise and the vast plains teeming with wildlife from a unique vantage point. The safari ends with a champagne breakfast in the bush.

Morning Game Drive and Maasai Village Visit: After an early morning game drive, you can return to the lodge for breakfast. In the afternoon, visit a local Maasai village (manyatta) to learn about their unique culture, traditions, and way of life.
Late Afternoon: Enjoy a final evening game drive in the Mara. This is a great chance to look for animals you may have missed, like the elusive leopard.
