Your journey begins with a scenic drive to the southwestern highlands of Uganda, home to the dense and misty Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The drive takes about 8–9 hours, offering sweeping views of rolling hills, terraced farmlands, and vibrant villages. Although long, the road trip is rewarding for adventure seekers who enjoy exploring the countryside. On arrival at your lodge in Bwindi, you will settle in and later gather around a warm campfire to enjoy the cool mountain evening.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and Transfer to Kisoro

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing about your gorilla trekking experience. Here, you’ll receive important guidelines and can hire a porter for a small fee to assist with your backpack and steep terrain. Equipped with packed lunch and drinking water, you’ll join a group of fellow trekkers led by an experienced ranger guide into the rainforest. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend one magical hour observing their behavior and interactions. Later in the afternoon, you will transfer to Kisoro, located near Mgahinga National Park, where you will have dinner and overnight rest.

A short briefing introduces you to the rules of chimpanzee trekking, after which you venture into the forest in search of these lively primates. Once located, you’ll enjoy an hour in their company, observing them swing through the trees and interact in their natural environment. Following the trek, you will begin your return journey to Entebbe, marking the end of this thrilling four-day primate adventure.
