Your safari begins with a morning pick-up from Nairobi and drive south to Amboseli National Park, famous for its dramatic views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest peak. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge/camp, followed by an afternoon game drive. Amboseli is known for its large elephant herds, often photographed with Kilimanjaro in the background. Other wildlife includes lion, cheetah, hyena, giraffe, buffalo, and numerous plains game. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2

Full Day Game drives
Spend a full day exploring Amboseli on morning and afternoon game drives. At sunrise, the mountain is usually clear, offering the best photo opportunities of elephants against the snowcapped Kilimanjaro. Visit the swamp areas, which act as a lifeline for animals during the dry season and attract abundant birdlife. In between, enjoy leisure time at your lodge.

Day 3
Amboseli-Lake Naivasha
Amboseli-Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, drive back north via Nairobi and continue to the Great Rift Valley, arriving at Lake Naivasha in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, where you may spot hippos wallowing in the water, fish eagles diving for their prey, and a variety of water birds. You can also visit Crescent Island Sanctuary, a peaceful reserve where you walk among giraffe, zebra, and antelope in a predator-free environment.

Day 4

After breakfast, depart for nearby Lake Nakuru National Park, famed for its alkaline lake once home to millions of flamingos, and now known for its endangered rhino population. Arrive for a mid-morning game drive en route to your lodge. In the afternoon, explore the park further. Lake Nakuru is a rhino sanctuary and also offers a good chance to see lion, leopard, buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffe, and diverse birdlife.

Day 5

After breakfast, drive further west through the scenic highlands and into the rolling savannahs of the Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya’s premier safari destination. Arrive at your camp/lodge in time for lunch, followed by your first afternoon game drive. The Mara is renowned for its big cat populations, especially lion and cheetah, and is home to the full Big Five.

Enjoy a full day of game drives in the Masai Mara. At dawn, the plains come alive with wildlife activity—this is the best time for spotting predators on the hunt. You will explore different areas of the reserve, from the Mara River, where hippos and crocodiles reside, to the endless plains where herds of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope graze. Optional activities include a hot air balloon safari at sunrise (extra cost) for a unique aerial view of the reserve.

Spend another full day exploring the Masai Mara to maximize your wildlife encounters. This allows you to venture deeper into the reserve, increasing your chances of witnessing rare sightings or observing animal behavior at leisure. The Mara is also home to the Maasai people, and you may visit a local Maasai village to learn about their culture and traditions (optional activity).

After an early morning game drive and breakfast, depart from the Mara and return to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon. You will be dropped off at your hotel or at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight.
