Your safari begins with a morning pick-up from Nairobi and drive south to Amboseli National Park, famous for its dramatic views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest peak. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge/camp, followed by an afternoon game drive. Amboseli is known for its large elephant herds, often photographed with Kilimanjaro in the background. Other wildlife includes lion, cheetah, hyena, giraffe, buffalo, and numerous plains game. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Spend a full day exploring Amboseli on morning and afternoon game drives. At sunrise, the mountain is usually clear, offering the best photo opportunities of elephants against the snowcapped Kilimanjaro. Visit the swamp areas, which act as a lifeline for animals during the dry season and attract abundant birdlife. In between, enjoy leisure time at your lodge.

Day 3

Amboseli-Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, drive back north via Nairobi and continue to the Great Rift Valley, arriving at Lake Naivasha in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, where you may spot hippos wallowing in the water, fish eagles diving for their prey, and a variety of water birds. You can also visit Crescent Island Sanctuary, a peaceful reserve where you walk among giraffe, zebra, and antelope in a predator-free environment.

After breakfast, depart for nearby Lake Nakuru National Park, famed for its alkaline lake once home to millions of flamingos, and now known for its endangered rhino population. Arrive for a mid-morning game drive en route to your lodge. In the afternoon, explore the park further. Lake Nakuru is a rhino sanctuary and also offers a good chance to see lion, leopard, buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffe, and diverse birdlife.
