Day 2
Amboseli National Park
Amboseli National Park
This day is dedicated to exploring the park’s predators and grazers.
You can have an early morning wake-up call if you wish to view the panoramic Mt Kilimanjaro early morning sunrise if the weather permits. You may also spot wildlife that wanders in the park early in the morning before the scorching sunrise hits their back.
The morning and afternoon game drives will take you along the park's dusty roads. (The true meaning of Amboseli in Maasai is "dusty whirlwinds"). You're likely to spot wildebeest, giraffes, gazelles, impala, and zebra attracted to the marshes and swamps fed by the melting snows of Kilimanjaro. You may also spot lions on the fringes of the marshes as well as a great variety of birdlife (some 425 species of bird populate the park). With Kilimanjaro providing a dramatic backdrop, your photographs capturing elephants will be beautiful, which is another reason for Amboseli's popularity.

Distance is approximately 400km.
Travel time is approximately 6 hours to 7 hrs, including an hour's lunch break in Nairobi.
Depart Amboseli and begin the journey to Lake Nakuru National Park. There will be a stopover at Nairobi for an early lunch break and relaxation.
The journey will continue to Lake Nakuru National Park through the Great Rift Valley with excellent views of the countryside along the way.
Due to some progressive natural factors like increasing water levels, the flamingo numbers have decreased, but the park remains stunning. Great rocky escarpments tower over acacia forests, waterfalls, and wooded hills. The small quantity of flamingos is accompanied by other birdlife, such as pelicans, cormorants, kingfishers, ostriches, storks, herons, and eagles. The scene here is bountiful, busy, and full of color. The park is known for hosting endangered beautiful species such as the rare Rothschild’s giraffe, white rhino, and large populations of black rhinos.

Enjoy 2 days of game viewing in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Vast herds of wildebeest and zebra wander across the Mara grasslands in huge numbers within the savanna grassland, more so in the month of June through August, to the end of October. During this period, millions of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle traverse the Mara plains landscape to feed on the rich new grass from the Serengeti National Park.
Despite the well-known wildebeest migration, This park is visited by many throughout the year as it hosts so much wildlife. You also have a chance to see other plain games like the Topi, hartebeest, and eland.
