Day 1

Nairobi - Taita Hills Sanctuary

Nairobi - Taita Hills Sanctuary

We depart by road for Tsavo West National Park, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy an optional game drive — either during the day or in the early evening — offering a chance to spot the park’s diverse wildlife.

Tsavo West is the most visited section of the greater Tsavo ecosystem, not only for its wildlife but also for its unique natural attractions. Chief among them is the stunning Mzima Springs, where approximately 227 million litres of crystal-clear water bubble up daily through porous volcanic rock. The spring water is believed to originate from the Chyulu Hills, flowing underground before emerging in this lush oasis — a magnet for hippos, crocodiles, and birds.

Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Note: Accommodation can be upgraded for a more luxurious experience or downgraded for a more budget-friendly option, depending on your preference.

Tsavo West National Park

Tsavo West National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive in Tsavo West with a packed lunch provided. In addition to abundant wildlife, the park offers several fascinating landmarks. Visit the Roaring Rocks, named for the wind that howls through them, and enjoy sweeping views from the top of the 98-meter-high rock face. Similar views can be experienced from Poacher’s Lookout, a former surveillance point. Explore the Chaimu Crater, a black volcanic cone less than 200 years old, which can be climbed for a closer look at its unique landscape. The area is also ideal for spotting the klipspringer, a small, agile antelope known in Swahili as mbuzi mawe (mountain goat). In the southwest corner of the park lies Lake Jipe, a scenic lake on the Kenya-Tanzania border, popular for birdwatching and tranquil views.

Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
