Nairobi to Masai Mara | Afternoon Game Drive

Your safari begins with a scenic drive from Nairobi through the Great Rift Valley to the legendary
Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrive at your lodge or camp in time for lunch, followed by your
first afternoon game drive. Search for elephants, lions, giraffes, and more as the sun sets over
the vast savannah. Return for dinner and a restful evening in the wild.

Exploring Mara Reserve

After breakfast, head to the Mara River again with hopes of seeing the wildebeest crossing. If
you have seen the crossing yesterday, you can choose to return to the river or go around the
Mara in search of the remaining Big 5 you have not spotted. Again, you will have picnic lunch in
the reserve as you scale the Mara beauty. Return to the camp before dusk for accommodation.

Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru

After an early breakfast, visit a nearby Maasai village for an insightful cultural interaction. Learn
about Maasai traditions, family life, and local crafts. Then, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park,
arriving in time for a late lunch and afternoon game drive. The park is famed for its vast flocks of
flamingos, endangered rhinos, and rich birdlife. Enjoy birdwatching around the alkaline lake and
spot buffaloes, zebras, and elusive leopards. Overnight at your camp or lodge.

Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon for drop-off or onward travel. You may choose to visit the Giraffe Centre to hand-feed the gentle giants, visit the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, enjoy a nature walk at Karura Forest. For cultural enthusiasts, the Karen Blixen Museum, Bomas of Kenya, or a tour of the Kazuri Beads Factory provide an authentic taste of Kenya’s heritage. Guests can also explore the vibrant Maasai Market for souvenirs, enjoy panoramic city views from the KICC rooftop, or indulge in a dining experience at renowned Carnivore.
