Day 1
Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Depart Nairobi early in the morning and embark on the 4-5 hour journey to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. You'll have a stopever at the Equator line in Nanyuki. This imaginary line divides the Earth into two Hemispheres: north and south. Take memorable photos at the Eqautor marker, then proceed to Ol Pejeta.
Arrive at Ol Pejeta Conservancy, check-in, and enjoy lunch at your lodge or tented camp.
Embark on your first game drive in the afternoon. As you explore the plains and acacia-dotted landscapes, you may encounter elephants, lions, buffalos, giraffes, and a wide variety of antelope species. With luck, you might even spot the elusive leopard. The conservancy is also home to East Africa’s largest population of black rhinos and the last two remaining northern white rhinos in the world.
Return to your lodge in the early evening, where you can unwind, enjoy a delicious dinner, and listen to the distant sounds of wildlife under the star-filled African sky.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy Exploration
Ol Pejeta Conservancy Exploration
After an early breakfast, head out for a morning game drive while the animals are most active.
During the mid-morning, you’ll visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where you can see rescued chimpanzees.
Around midday, stop for a picnic lunch in the heart of the conservancy before continuing your drive.
Later, visit the endangered species enclosure, a 700-acre sanctuary within Ol Pejeta where you’ll have the rare opportunity to see the last two northern white rhinos on Earth. This moving experience highlights the critical importance of conservation work being done here.
Key highlights include: visiting the chimpanzee sanctuary, paying respects at the grave of Sudan—the world’s last male northern white rhino—and meeting Baraka, the blind black rhino, while learning about Ol Pejeta’s pioneering conservation work.
The day concludes with dinner and another night in the wild.
