Maputo National Park is located in the south of the country and can easily be reached from Mozambique’s capital, Maputo, or South Africa. Maputo International Airport (MPM) is about 3km/2mi from the city.
The park is very popular with self-drive visitors and 4x4 enthusiasts. Maputo National Park is 160km/100mi from Maputo and the drive takes about 3 to 4 hours*. Anvil Bay, a luxury lodge in the park, can organize a transfer from Maputo or the South African border for you.
Anvil Bay also offers helicopter transfers from Maputo International Airport directly to the lodge. Alternatively, they will organize a charter flight to Machangulo Airstrip, about an hour’s drive from the lodge.
