The rock formations are fantastic with a figure or face to be made out in almost every formation. A surreal experience to be awaken by hooting of Pel's fishing owl.

Matabo is a great destination, scenic wise. We stayed at the Shumba Shaba Lodge in a spectacular setting.

In Matobo Park we had opportunity to cycling around this park. The wildlife is poor but we had opportunity to see rhino and monkeys. We sleep on the camping site there and we were alone.

Scenery here is simply breath taking. The birdlife is excellent and the wildlife is not too bad but a little harder to see in amoungst all of the towering granite boulders and dwalas. The roads in the Game Park could do with some TLC but overall it is a lovely place to go with a picnic for the day and just outside the city of Bulawayo. Well worth the visit.

Matobo Hills is another one of Zimbabwe's Cultural World Heritage Sites. It has significant spirtual significance for locals. It has the most amazing scenery that is second to none when it comes to vast granite rock formations that include large continuos rock domes and blalancing rocks. This area is home to one of the largest, if not the largest concentration of Black Eagles in the world. There are numerous other bird species present to. It is not a major safari area, but having said that it is a great place to track white rhino and there are also many leopards in residence here.
