This self-contained ecosystem guaranteed the opportunity to definitely view animals and bird life - and the highlight was the black rhino. We saw elephants, lion, hyena, warthog, zebra, buffalo, wildebeest, impala, gazelle, flamingoes, ibis, secretary birds, heron and more. Good weather enabled some great pictures and there weren't a huge number of vehicles vying for best viewing, at this time. Excepting the rare closeup sighting of the shy black rhino where about 20 vehicles lined the road to get a snap.

Like a mayfly in the universe, a grain of sand in the vast ocean

Seeing such a large crater, it seems that all the unhappiness has disappeared. Human beings are so small, and nature is so huge, so you have to come and see it yourself, put yourself in this vast world, and look at the Maasai houses dotted in the crater. They live in nature. Maybe they don’t need to keep up with the development of the times. They live like this from generation to generation, with nature and cattle and sheep, free and unrestrained. It will make your life more thoughtful and open-minded. It is worth coming.

crowdy, feels more like in bigger zoo than an adventurous safari

Great short trip through the Ngorongoro Crater. Along with the normal sightings, we got to see Rhino and lots of monkeys up close.
