Unforgettable budget safari!
Incredible tour from start to finish! Peter from the Axis team took so much time and effort to patiently explain various options and packages while we were planning. When we went to the office in Nairobi, the entire team was lovely and incredibly helpful. A huge highlight was celebrating my birthday during the trip—Peter and the team made sure the camp arranged a surprise celebration and a cake. It was completely unexpected and extremely sweet of them!
Our guide, Caxstone, was great. He is an expert driver who easily manoeuvred through some very tough and challenging roads, and he had an answer for every single question we threw at him. He made some brilliant executive decisions, like driving us straight to the Masai Mara for a game drive on Day 1 instead of waiting for the typical evening drive after check-in. Because of which we maximized our first day, got extra hours in the park, and incredibly saw all of the Big Five on our very first day! He consistently made great decisions and put a lot of effort into making sure we had incredible wildlife sightings throughout the whole trip.
They included some decent options for accommodation and lunch stops. Some of our camps were beautifully located with better amenities than competing tours. We never felt like we missed out on anything, despite being on a budget. Highly recommend!
Good tour operator.but not so good driver
The was good until the last day. On the second last day our driver Roger made us aware of protests happening on the following day and gave us a choice of whether or not to go straight back to Nairobi rather than do an early morning game drive. We wanted to go back to Nairobi to avoid the protests but then he adamantly took us to the national park in order to "secure a good review" (his words). We all told him that we didn't feel safe to hang around to do the game drive after which he said we'll go back to Nairobi, but then he lied and still drove us to the park. We were all furious with him.
All in all, although the tour operator and safari were good, best to find out who your driver is in advance to see if it is roger.
Also a side note, Axis may say it's not needed to carry your passport with you (in case you decide to leave it at your hotel for safe keeping), but one of the hotels in Nakuru did request at least a copy of your passport upon check in.
Final side note, we gave our dietary requirements (vegetarian) but for some reason Axis did not relay to the camp in amboselli. Fortunately the camp managed to accommodate us as best as they could.

An unforgettable Kenya safari with Axis Africa Safaris!
An unforgettable Kenya safari with Axis Africa Safaris!
From the first conversation, Winnie was patient, responsive and helped us plan the trip exactly around what we wanted. Everything was seamless from start to finish.
But the real star of our trip was our guide, Mohammed. If you book with Axis, ask for him. His knowledge of wildlife and birds is exceptional, but his real superpower is his instinct, he somehow knew where to go, when to wait and how to position us. Thanks to him, we saw incredible wildlife and witnessed the Great Migration, something we will never forget.
Mohammed was patient, smart, respectful, gave us our space and quietly made sure every stay and activity was perfectly arranged. He is not just a driver or guide; he is the kind of person who can completely change your safari experience.
Axis Africa was professional, reliable and excellent value. Winnie made the planning easy, and Mohammed made the safari unforgettable. 10/10 — highly recommended!

Top-notch safari
We had an excellent safari, perfectly organized from start to finish. Our driver and our French-speaking guide, Joseph, were very professional, always available, and able to answer all our questions. They suggested a few optional excursions, such as a night safari or a visit to a Maasai village, without ever being pushy, which we greatly appreciated. We chose one, and the experience was truly wonderful. The hotels selected were also of very high quality and perfectly suited to our needs. A top-notch organization that we highly recommend!

Great experience
We chose Axis Safari for a 4-day, 3-night safari, and we couldn’t have made a better choice! There were three of us, and we visited the Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha (including the wonderful boat tour and the unforgettable walking safari on Crescent Island), and on the last day, Lake Nakuru National Park.
The Masai Mara is simply breathtaking—an absolute must-see that offers unforgettable emotions and incredible landscapes. We were also amazed by Lake Naivasha: the boat ride among hippos and countless birds, followed by the walking safari on the island surrounded by wildlife, was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Throughout the safari, we were lucky enough to see an incredible variety of animals, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, hyenas, hippos, rhinos, crocodiles, wildebeests, gazelles, and many other beautiful species. Every game drive was exciting and full of surprises.
During the tour, we stayed at Enkorok Mara Camp and Hillcourt Resort. Both accommodations were fantastic: comfortable rooms, great food, everything you need for a relaxing stay after long safari days, and incredibly kind and welcoming staff.
A very special thank you goes to our guide, Kalifa, who made this experience even more memorable. He was professional, extremely knowledgeable, always available, and attentive to every detail. Thanks to his experience and dedication, we were able to spot so many amazing animals and enjoy the safari to the fullest.
We highly recommend Axis Safari to anyone looking for an authentic and unforgettable experience in Kenya. It has truly been one of the best trips of our lives!
