A perfectly executed trip.
I was planning my first safari experience, and for that I set some requirements since I had no idea how good or bad this experience would be for me, but I would have to have at least a certain level of comfort. So I created a list: I didn't want to be in a group with many people in the vehicle, I wanted to visit different parks and do different activities, I wanted to visit different countries, I wanted comfortable accommodation with hot water, 24-hour electricity and full board, if it had wifi, even better. In addition, I wanted to be able to relax at the end because I believed that a safari marathon would be tiring, so I would need to end the tour on some paradisiacal beach. Logically, all this with an agency with a certain name that could inspire confidence in being able to do all this.
Since I'm from Brazil, agencies that can put together a tour like this at a reasonable cost are practically nonexistent, so I started searching online and found only rigid, pre-packaged tours, or luxurious ones that would be beyond my budget. Fortunately, with a little more effort, I finally found a package that could be tailored to my interests through Tapestry of Africa Tours and Safari.
Without knowing what to expect, I contacted them and was promptly assisted by Dr. Matt, who gave me all the necessary information and confidence. We adjusted routes, accommodations, and activities, always with transparency and excellent service. In parallel, I sought more information about the agency, which worried me because it was relatively new. What I found were positive reviews, evidence of a regulated and approved agency by government bodies, social work supporting local people and no record of significant problems. In short, a great green light to give them a thumbs up and book our two weeks package with them.
During the pre-trip process, I gained more confidence in the quality of Tapestry's service because of all the tips, recommendations, and guidance on what to do and expect from the safaris. I left home already knowing that they would welcome me upon arrival, provide telephone contact, and got alternative contacts in case of emergency. Upon arriving in Kenya and starting our tour, everything was perfectly executed according to plan. Jeep safaris, bicycle , boat , hot air balloon safaris, each with its own unique characteristics and thrills. Our guide and driver, Boniface, besides being kind, helpful, and tireless, had an eye for finding animals hidden dozens of meters away that we could only see much later and when we were much closer. Finding the Big Five and the Ugly Five was just a matter of time.
After our safaris in Kenya, we went to Tanzania, where our guide and driver, Josephat, did not disappoint us, same energy, spirity and keen eyes. Although we had already seen the main animals, we told him that in Tanzania the counter was reset and we would start looking for them all again. And neither Tanzania nor Josephat disappointed us; we also found the Big Five and the Ugly Five. To finish, we went to Zanzibar and rested from our safari marathon by the beach at the Breezes Resort.
However, to end on a high note, we did one more safari, but this time an underwater one. And to our surprise, the seabed in Tanzania is a great place to visit as well. In just 2 dives we did, we found several fishes and creatures that are normally difficult to find. Seahorse, leaf fish, nudibranchs, octopus, ghost pipefish, cuttlefish, etc. In addition to them, dolphins during the rest between the two dives.
In summary, a perfectly executed trip.

Our first safari trip
Our three weeks safari trip with Tapestry of Africa were not just enjoyable but a memorable one. The safari trip is worth every penny of it. Fooding and lodging are of high quality; supporting staff are excellent and they really took care of us made us feel like at home. Experienced and knowledgeable guides like Boney and Godson made our trips really enjoyable. We would like to credit Godson for bringing us to the right place at the right time to watch hundreds of wildebeest crossing the river and being attacked by crocodiles lurking underneath the water. Credits of witnessing lioness dragging the fresh kill to feed her family, convoy of elephants with their babies crossing the plain and enjoying the sights of various rare wildlife and fowls goes to Boney. We also like to thank Boney for mesmerizing scenery of Mt. Kilimanjaro from different view points and angles. We will definitely share our experience, photos and videos with friends and families and recommend the quality tour services provided by Tapestry for those who are considering or planning a safari tour in their future upcoming traveling plans. Thank you very much Godson and Boney for such high quality services good luck and all the best.
Friendly, responsive, trustworthy tour company offering amazing once-in-a-lifetime safari experience
I chose Matt and his Tapestry of Africa company because I trusted his promise of delivering western standards to an East Africa once-in-a-lifetime luxury safari experience that's safe and engaging. Matt from the start was easy to reach and a fast responder. His experience as a health care worker also made me believe he will adhere to safety above all else. He also repeatedly mentioned that his guides are great (which is a must as they make or break a safari).
In short he overall delivered on his promises. His entire team is very involved and amazing and get the work done (shoutout to Albert and Hilda and so many others behind the scenes). We loved our Kenyan guide Masha- entertaining, respectful, knowledgeable, really caring and passionate about animals, amazing driver (navigating a jeep in rivers and "roads" is NO JOKE!), good mastery of English, etc. You are lucky if you get him as your guide! Our Tanzanian guide was okay in comparison, and got the job done albeit he was much chiller and less engaged in general and we had a bit more of a language barrier. What our Tanzanian guide did a good job of was time management to get us checked into our camps sooner than later each day.
We saw our must sees- the Great Migration (and even a Mara crossing of wildebeests), the Big Five, and the Big Cats. In addition we saw the Ugly Five, all the national birds of Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania, and a Super Tusker elephant!
Amazing trip, amazing memories, I recommend Tapestry to anyone deciding to go to East Africa.

Trip of a Lifetime!
We had a great time! Matt at Tapestry of Africa promised an amazing adventure and the team did not disappoint. We saw all the animals we wanted to see in their natural habitats, including the Big Five more than once, zebras, giraffes, warthogs with babies, crocodiles, flamingos, Topi, Thomson gazelles, baboons, birds, and birds and birds!. Travel was seamless. We were well taken care of at all times. We cannot say enough about the staff and the service from Tapestry of Africa.
The driver/guides were fantastic – we had Joseph in Kenya, Vincent in Tanzania and Johannes in Zanzibar. These guys were over the top great at their jobs. They were prompt, communicative, knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining. In particular, they made us feel safe, secure and confident. Several times we would mention an animal (rhino, male lion) that we hadn’t seen yet, and lo and behold, Joseph or Vincent would find it. Amazing!
We will never forget our breath-taking trip with Tapestry of Africa
Our tour guides were top notch, extremely knowledgeable, and seriously so much fun to hang out with!
Our group was in Africa for 2 weeks. Matt helped organize our guides where we had no hiccups at all. We were picked up and taken care of from the very beginning, to the very end. We had long drives to get from one place to the other, but we had some really fun stops along the way to break up our hours in the car. I thought we were doing safaris most of the time, but we did village experiences, hot air balloon rides, an equator stop, gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trekking, orphanage and school experiences, and incredible talks in the vehicles! Our guides were with us every step of the way, and were so much fun to get to know! I was told by so many of my friends, to be prepared to sit and be bored. That was NEVER the case with us. Our guides were entertaining and laughing with us as, and they were just as excited to see the animals as we were, so they would drive with passion to get us the best view point for our pictures as possible! It was better than I ever imagined (and I had imagined amazing things)!!! I told my friends that I don't think I could go back to do another safari trip, because I don't know how you could top this one. Every place we stayed was just better than the last. It was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the people were so kind everywhere we went! I couldn't say better things about Tapestry of Africa Tours and Safaris! If you are planning a trip, this is your place!!!
