An Unforgettable Safari in Tanzania with Get Together Adventures
Our safari in Tanzania with Get Together Adventures was an absolutely incredible experience that exceeded all our expectations! We spent an unforgettable time exploring three of Tanzania’s most spectacular wildlife destinations: Tarangire National Park, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and the legendary Serengeti National Park.
From breathtaking landscapes and incredible wildlife encounters to beautiful lodges and outstanding service, everything about this trip was special. But what really made the experience unforgettable was our two wonderful guides, Josez and Hamza.
We couldn’t have asked for a better safari, and we would wholeheartedly recommend Get Together Adventures to anyone planning a trip to Tanzania!
A Great Start to Our Adventure
Our adventure began at the airport, where we were warmly welcomed by our two guides: Josez, our lead guide, and Hamza, a young man currently completing his practical training to become a professional safari guide.
Our safari jeep was excellent — spacious, comfortable, and spotless. There was always plenty of drinking water on board, and we were taken straight to our hotel in Arusha to relax before the adventure began the following morning.
We were also given lovely safari hats featuring the agency’s logo, which was such a thoughtful touch!
From the very beginning, everything was well organised, and we felt that we were in good hands.
Tarangire National Park – Baobabs, Elephants and Giraffes
Our first safari day took us to Tarangire National Park, famous for its magnificent ancient baobab trees and large elephant populations.
The scenery was breathtaking. The enormous baobabs rising above the African savannah created an almost surreal landscape, and seeing these beautiful trees alongside elephants and graceful giraffes was something truly special. We also spotted a wonderful variety of birds.
One thing we particularly appreciated was having binoculars in the jeep. They made it so much easier to spot animals in the distance and observe them in detail, allowing us to appreciate things we might otherwise have missed.
Josez and Hamza were fantastic at spotting wildlife and explaining what we were seeing. They shared fascinating facts about the animals, their behaviour, and their natural environment, making every sighting even more interesting.
In the evening, we arrived at a lovely lodge, where we enjoyed a delicious dinner and a relaxing night after our first day on safari.
Ngorongoro Crater – An Extraordinary Wildlife Experience
The next morning, after breakfast, we were given packed lunches and set off for the magnificent Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
We even had a little adventure along the way when one of the jeep’s tyres needed changing! Josez and Hamza handled the situation calmly and efficiently, changing the wheel quickly and making sure we could continue our journey safely. It was impressive to see how well they worked together and how confidently they dealt with an unexpected situation.
Ngorongoro was absolutely spectacular. The crater is a vast volcanic caldera, formed millions of years ago, and its fertile grasslands, lakes, and wetlands provide a remarkable habitat for an incredible variety of wildlife.
We saw so many animals and birds, including flamingos, and were delighted to spot giraffes in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area as well. Everywhere we looked, there was something fascinating to discover.
One of the highlights was spotting both a black rhino and a white rhino through the binoculars in our jeep. Seeing these magnificent animals in the wild was an extraordinary privilege, especially the rare white rhino. Being able to observe both through the binoculars made the experience even more special.
Thanks to our guides’ patience, knowledge, and sharp eyes, we were able to appreciate so much more than we could ever have discovered on our own.
That evening, we checked into the beautiful Meliá Ngorongoro Lodge. The setting was stunning, the atmosphere was peaceful and elegant, and the service was excellent. It was the perfect place to unwind after such an incredible day.
Serengeti National Park – Three Days We Will Never Forget
Then came the highlight of our trip: three incredible days in the legendary Serengeti National Park.
Words can hardly do this place justice. The endless plains, the vast African sky, and the sheer abundance of wildlife made every single day feel like a new adventure.
We saw countless zebras and giraffes roaming across the savannah, along with many other animals. One particularly memorable sight was a herd of 23 elephants, including several adorable calves. Watching these magnificent animals moving together as a family was a truly magical moment.
We also saw many hippos in the Serengeti, often gathered in groups, and loved watching these fascinating animals in their natural habitat.
We also encountered several lion prides. One of the most dramatic experiences was witnessing a pride that had hunted a zebra and was feeding on its prey. It was a powerful and unforgettable glimpse into the realities of life in the wild.
We were incredibly lucky with leopards, too! We spotted one on two separate occasions, resting peacefully in a tree. Seeing such an elusive animal even once is special, so having this experience twice felt like an extraordinary privilege.
On another occasion, we spotted a cheetah hiding among the bushes. These encounters were among the absolute highlights of our safari.
Giraffes were another wonderful part of our experience throughout all three parks. We loved seeing them wandering gracefully through their natural habitat, their distinctive silhouettes standing out against the beautiful African landscape.
Throughout our three days in the Serengeti, Josez and Hamza were exceptional. They were always on the lookout for wildlife, pointing out animals we might easily have missed and explaining their behaviour in fascinating detail. They never rushed us and were always happy to wait while we watched the animals and took photographs.
Their knowledge, patience, and genuine passion for wildlife made all the difference. They weren’t simply taking us on game drives — they were helping us understand and appreciate the incredible world around us.
A Walking Safari – An Unforgettable Encounter with a Lion
One of the highlights of our penultimate day was a walking safari accompanied by an armed park ranger.
Experiencing the African wilderness on foot was completely different from a traditional game drive. It allowed us to appreciate the smaller details of the environment and feel much closer to nature.
And we were incredibly lucky — we actually saw a lion during our walking safari!
The experience was thrilling, fascinating, and beautifully organised. The ranger was professional and knowledgeable, and we felt that safety was taken very seriously throughout. Everything was handled with great care, making the experience both exciting and reassuring.
It was an unforgettable adventure and something we would highly recommend to anyone visiting Tanzania!
Meliá Serengeti Lodge – Comfort and Luxury in the Heart of the Wilderness
During our stay in the Serengeti, we enjoyed the beautiful Meliá Serengeti Lodge.
The hotel is stunning, with a wonderful setting, elegant surroundings, and excellent service. It was a pleasure to return there after long days exploring the park and relax in such a beautiful and comfortable environment.
We were also very impressed with the packed lunches prepared for us every day. They were generous, delicious, and thoughtfully put together — perfect for our long days out on safari.
Throughout the entire trip, the attention to detail was excellent. There was always plenty of water in the jeep, the vehicle was kept clean, and even small things like having tissues available were taken care of.
These details might seem minor, but they made the whole experience more comfortable and showed just how much thought had gone into organising our safari.
Our Incredible Guides – Josez and Hamza
We cannot praise our guides enough. They were a huge part of what made this trip so memorable.
Josez is an outstanding guide. He is calm, patient, experienced, and incredibly knowledgeable. No matter what happened, he always remained composed and professional, and we felt completely safe and well looked after throughout the trip.
His knowledge of wildlife is impressive, and his ability to spot animals and explain their behaviour added so much to our experience. He was always patient with our questions and gave us plenty of time to enjoy every sighting. His experience and reassuring manner made us feel that we were in the very best hands.
Hamza is a truly impressive young man with a bright future ahead of him. He is intelligent, modern, forward-thinking, and genuinely passionate about nature and wildlife.
Although he is still completing his practical training to become a guide, his enthusiasm, curiosity, and eagerness to learn are remarkable. It is obvious that he genuinely loves what he does, and his passion shines through in the way he talks about animals and shares his knowledge.
He is exactly the kind of young person you want to see entering the tourism and conservation industry: bright, motivated, open-minded, and deeply connected to the natural world. We have no doubt that he has a wonderful future ahead of him.
Both Josez and Hamza were incredibly patient, attentive, friendly, and professional. They worked together seamlessly and made us feel more like friends travelling together than tourists on an organised trip.
They were always happy to answer our questions, help us spot animals, explain what was happening, and wait while we enjoyed watching the wildlife. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and it was clear that they genuinely wanted us to have the best possible experience.
Thanks to them, we were fortunate enough to see all of the Big Five: lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and rhinos. What an incredible experience and a dream come true!
We will always be grateful to Josez and Hamza for making our safari so special.
Saying Goodbye – The End of an Incredible Journey
Sadly, every wonderful journey eventually comes to an end.
After our final days in the Serengeti, Josez and Hamza drove us to Seronera Airstrip for our onward flight. Saying goodbye was genuinely emotional because, by that point, they had become such an important part of our experience.
We left Tanzania with wonderful memories, hundreds of photographs, a deeper appreciation of African wildlife, and enormous gratitude to everyone who made this adventure possible.
From the ancient baobabs of Tarangire and the extraordinary wildlife of Ngorongoro to the endless plains of the Serengeti, every part of our journey offered something unique.
It was so much more than a holiday. It was an experience we will treasure for the rest of our lives.

This has been the trip of a lifetime. As a solo traveler in Africa for 2 weeks. I felt safe and everything accommodated for. We talked every morning about our day and every night about our next adventure. They provided plenty of water and snacks. He helped me with check in and check out. The service was excellent and the knowledge of the game drives and animals. We saw the big 5. It was so exciting. We counted about 50 lions through our 9 day game drives. 4 leopards, 3 cheetahs and 2 babies. 1 serval cat. This is nature as Emmanuel would say. Every day was a new adventure. We saw a plethora of animals. It was amazing. We also prayed before each game drive. Starting the day in prayer for safety and gratitude. I went with the luxury safari trip and all the accommodations were excellent.

Very easy to work with!
The Tour company and my guide, Emmanuel, were excellent! While I was working with them to get a quote and talk about a few adjustments, they were very communicative and let me know what was going on during each step of the process. Emmanuel was a wonderful guide! Clearly loves what he does, his country, and the animals of course! It's important for me to feel safe as a solo female traveler, and the company was gracious enough to accept me solo traveler at a reasonable cost.

We had such an incredible safari with our amazing guide, Joseph Temba!
Joseph was friendly, funny, extremely knowledgeable and so easygoing. He made us feel comfortable from the very beginning, and we genuinely enjoyed all the fun, goofy conversations and laughs we shared throughout the trip. He really made the whole experience that much more memorable!
We were lucky enough to see the Big Five, which was an absolute highlight! Joseph was fantastic at positioning the vehicle to get the best possible views and perfect photo opportunities. His knowledge of the animals and the surrounding areas was impressive, and we learnt so much along the way.
The entire safari was really well organised, the accommodation was great, and the food was delicious, even the packed lunch boxes were something we looked forward to each day!
