Perfect experience for a couple - wonderful guides and a magical experience.

We loved our time with Leader Expeditions in Tanzania.

We climbed Kilimanjaro (Lemosho Route) and went on Safari. Kilimanjaro is challenging, but well worth it. The guides Barnabas and Chungus were very kind and genuine people. We had incredible porters, some young, some older. What they do for you is incredible, and you truly see their value on the climb. Be prepared to have so much food prepared for you. You will never go hungry. It was much more food then we are used to; but in a good way.

Safari with Musunga was wonderful. He was extremely knowledgeable as an Ecologist. Tarangire NP was a great introduction to safari. Then the Central Serengeti NP will blow your mind. The Northern Serengeti NP was different again, and the Wildebeest Migration was something to behold. We were lucky to see two river crossings while we were there. Be prepared to be patient while you wait at the river. And be prepared for some other tour operators to get a bit greedy with hogging the good views.
The hot air balloon experience was amazing (expensive) but worth it.
The Ngongoro Crater was a fascinating experience too - an ecosystem you need to see to believe.
We lucked out with the Big 5 and cheetah sighting amongst many others.

All in all, Leader Expeditions were great. They cared for us and wished us well as we departed with a lovely painting as a gift. We also had (surprise to us) a lovely custom made honeymoon decorative cover on the safari jeep rear spare tyre.

Bring more money than you think for tips. Note that it is hard to take a lot of money out from ATM at a time. Be prepared to pay fees all the time.

We used Leader Expeditions through Getaway Trekking an Australian company for our African adventures. Not only did we climb Mt Kilimanjaro but also experienced 3 great safari as well. The climb was well staffed with a great team well versed in the processes. Excellent food was provided throughout our journey and we felt well supported. During the Safari even with a vehicle breakdown, problems were solved quickly without any inconvenience to us.

Our safari experience was truly unforgettable!

Our guides were amazing throughout the trip. They were professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. They had great experience and skills, especially when it came to spotting animals and explaining the wildlife, the parks, and the local culture. Thanks to them, we had incredible moments and created memories that we will never forget.

Our cook was also excellent. He prepared delicious meals with great care and dedication, even while we were camping. The food was always fresh, tasty, and a pleasant surprise after long days of safari. His kindness and hard work added so much to our experience.

Overall, this safari was an amazing experience. The organization, the people, the wildlife, and the beautiful landscapes made this journey truly special. We are very grateful to our guides and our cook for making this adventure so memorable. We highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Tanzania!

Makori provided an excellent itinerary including a 7 day climb up Kilimanjaro followed by a safari.
Makori’s team were very professional and fun to be around. They looked after our group of 13 really well and we all made it to the top.
The food was tasty and plentiful and they were able to provide for the different dietary needs of the group.
We saw all the big 5 on our safari’s (4 different national parks) and the guides were very accommodating, readily agreeing to earlier starts so we could see as many animals as possible.
Makori was also able to arrange pre tour activities and drivers for us in Arusha and a hot air balloon ride in the Serengeti.
I have recommended Leader Expeditions to friends and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to others too.
Our trip to Tanzania was incredible and Makori and Leader Expeditions provided exactly what we were after!
