Charles Bora, Charles Bora!
Charles Bora, Charles Bora!
Thank you for the kind and detailed explanations throughout the safari. Charles was truly the best driver and an excellent safari expert, always making an effort to show us as many different animals as possible.
Thanks to Charles, we had so many wonderful opportunities and unforgettable experiences. Asante sana, Charles Bora!
Somewhere In Africa made our honeymoon unforgettable
Summary
Somewhere In Africa made our honeymoon unforgettable.
Guides
Lead guide Nuhu and safari guide Charles were brilliant, as were mountain guide Suma and tribal guide Gordon.
Booking
Nuhu arranged our full itinerary, travel and accommodation, answered all our questions before arrival, and added additional activities upon arrival including a Serengeti hot air balloon ride and Zanzibar Stone Town tour. He also chased our airline who failed to deliver our luggage.
Safari
Charles drove us from Arusha all through Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorogoro Crater and Lake Manyara national parks, and to the Maasai tribe. The parks were incredible and we saw all of the Big Five, Medium Five, Ugly Five, and other wildlife throughout our safari thanks to his driving, tracking and knowledge of each park.
Mountain
Suma took us up and down Kilimanjaro in only the clothes we had on arrival, and was very knowledgeable of the mountain and surrounding area. The scenery was incredible and we saw the glaciers atop of the main peak.
Tribes
Gordon introduced us to the Hadzabe hunter gatherer and Datoga blacksmith tribes in Lake Eyasi, arranged for us to observe them on a bush hunt. Fascinating.
Beach
The beach and hotel in Uroa were beautiful, and Nuhu arranged trips to Masingini Forest and Stone Town.
Accommodation
Every site we stayed at was beautiful, particularly Dove Serengeti Camp, Farm of Dreams Lodge, and Dream of Zanzibar Hotel. Rooms were clean and well equipped, staff polite and hospitable, and all were included in the package.
Transport
Transport via Land Cruiser through the national parks was great fun. Domestic flights, and lifts to and from hotels and airports, were quick and comfortable, and all were included in the package.
Recommendation
I highly recommend using Somewhere In Africa for your next safari and beach trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar.
Thanks
Thank you all for making our honeymoon unforgettable.

A kind and heartfelt journey to the best Serengeti.
I traveled to Northern, Central, Ngorongoro with future family by Somewhere in Africa.
I felt warm and comforted for whole trip because our guide Charles always treated me with a smile. He made sure we could see lots of animals as much as possible. He gave us several opportunities by moving the car so we could see from various directions. Especially when observing leopards, it became difficult to find them, so He kept changing the car positions. I learned a lot because he explained in detail about the characteristics and habits of each animal. The bush toilut was also an interesting experience too. All lodge was perfect.
Be sure to go to the northern Serengeti in late September or early October. You can see the migration of gnue. The wildebeest that run across the plains without crossing the Mara River is also amazing!

Couldn't be better
It couldn't be better
Our 5-day, 4-night safari journey with the two of us, our mothers, and Charles was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Not a single day could have been better.
Since we traveled around the end of September and beginning of October, our main goal was to see the migration and the Mara River crossing, so we spent two nights in the North. During those two nights, we saw countless wildebeest and zebras migrating, including several incredible Mara River crossings! The moment when the crocodiles and zebras were watching each other carefully at the river is something I will never forget.
We also saw giraffes, hippos, warthogs, and, of course, the Big Five! It was an amazing experience to see and feel the lives of so many different animals up close.
The Central Serengeti and Ngorongoro were completely different from the North, so I highly recommend visiting them as well. Seeing dozens of hippos sleeping in the river, surrounded by their own… well, you know 😅, was absolutely unforgettable! Personally, I was especially fascinated by the unique landscape of Ngorongoro and the incredible ecosystem within the crater.
Charles's professional knowledge and excellent judgment made our safari experience even more complete. He was always carefully watching in every direction and made sure we could have as many amazing experiences as possible.
On top of that, he is such a kind and gentle person. Whatever we were curious about, he always took the time to answer our questions.
After finishing the safari, I realized once again how important a guide's judgment and experience really are. So, if any Korean travelers happen to come across this review, I highly recommend Charles without hesitation!
Thumbs up! 👍

We had an amazing trip
We had an absolutely amazing time on our safari! It was a fantastic few days from start to finish, and everything was so well organised.
A special mention has to go to our guide, Noel, who was absolutely brilliant. He had incredible knowledge of the wildlife and the area, and he was so accommodating throughout the trip. He let us take our time, see everything we wanted to see, and made sure we got the most out of every day. He was such a nice person and a real pleasure to be around.
We saw so many amazing animals and had some unforgettable experiences, including visiting the Maasai villages. It was an incredible experience that we will remember for a long time.
We would 100% recommend Somewhere in Africa to anyone looking to do a safari. They were fantastic from the planning stage right through to the end of the trip, and nothing was ever too much trouble. They were extremely accommodating and made the whole experience completely stress-free.
Thank you to the whole team, and especially Noel, for an unforgettable safari! 🦁🐘🦒🌍❤️
