Exceptional Service, Constant Communication Execution, and a Truly Unforgettable Rwanda Experience
When planning a trip as significant—and expensive—as my Rwanda adventure, I did what most travelers would do: I comparison shopped. I contacted multiple companies, researched lodging options, compared itineraries, and carefully evaluated prices and recommendations.
What set Safari.com apart was not just the itinerary they proposed, but their professionalism, responsiveness, and consistency. Other companies initially responded but then became difficult to reach, failed to follow up, or simply stopped communicating. Safari.com was different. From my very first inquiry until the day I returned home, they were always available by email or WhatsApp. Every question was answered. Every concern was addressed. Every detail was handled.
That level of communication gave me confidence to move forward, and they earned that confidence every step of the way. Their recommendations were thoughtful and reasonably priced, and I never felt pressured into spending more than necessary.
Once I arrived in Rwanda, everything unfolded exactly as promised. Transfers were on time, accommodations were as described, permits were secured, and every logistical detail was seamlessly arranged. It is rare in travel for a company to deliver precisely what they sell, but Safari.com did exactly that.
The experiences themselves were extraordinary. Gorilla trekking and spending time with the golden monkeys were true bucket-list moments, and my safari in Akagera National Park exceeded every expectation. These are memories I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
The greatest asset of all, however, was my guide, Zidane. He was knowledgeable, professional, dependable, and genuinely invested in making sure I had an exceptional experience. By the end of the trip, he felt less like a guide and more like a friend.
Was it an inexpensive trip? No. But it was worth every dollar. When you are investing in a once-in-a-lifetime experience, reliability matters. Communication matters. Trust matters. Safari.com delivered on all three.
I recommend them without hesitation and would happily use them again.
Responsive, helpful and focused on finding the best options for our family.
We have always wanted to visit Africa and go on safari. Safari.com helped us to consider the different options available across multiple price points. The communication was timely and accurate. Overall an excellent service.
The safari at Sanbona wildlife reserve was a memorable and outstanding experience. Highly recommend!
We were so lucky to find Sara, and she was a phenomenal travel agent
I'm so lucky to have found Sara from Safari.com to curate the perfect Safari and overall vacation/experience/adventure. We decided to plan our Safari very last minute, and I luckily found Sara online. She responded within minutes, and we were immediately talking on the phone (even with the time difference!). She sent me multiple itineraries within a few hours with excellent choices and various different options and experiences. This was our first Safari, so we had a ton of questions about what to do and expect. Sara was constantly available to walk us through everything, asked such thoughtful questions to understand what we truly needed and wanted, and then created the perfect adventure for us. We loved every minute of it, and cannot wait to come back to Africa so Sara can plan our next trip.
She provided a great experience
Leigh-Ann was wonderful to work with. She was fast to respond, and answered my never-ending questions.
We booked the Kruger Shalati and the Victoria Falls experience, and she was attentive to every detail, including financial constraints.
Starting in Cape Town, the drivers were prompt and made everything easy to get to, and the tour guide Alastair was fantastic. We got to see the penguins, eat at some local places, and see all sorts of wildlife and attractions along the way.
The Airlink flights arranged between tours were well-planned and easy to maneuver, we were well-prepared for flight information, luggage requirements and the paperwork needed between countries.
Kruger Shalati was beyond words. They may have actually been too attentive - we felt spoiled and never went long between drinks/meals. The food was delicious and they were able to accommodate preference/allergies with no issues. Victor, the game drive tour guide was amazing, and we really liked that we got to know our guides across the stay. The evenings were relaxing, and it was nice to chat with other guests over wine by the patio fireplace.
The Victoria Falls portion of the trip was equally great, we had been advised to purchase the correct visa in the airport, so we were expecting that once we arrived. There was a minor issue with the room and food package, but Leigh-Ann had it sorted via text before we finished the meal.
She continued to check in for the duration of the stay to ensure there were no problems, including at check-out to make sure there were no last-minute issues with billing.
My only advice is that whatever you plan on bringing in cash for tipping/shopping, double (or triple) it. While tipping was always optional, everyone went above and beyond, and we wanted to reward them!
Overall, the trip was wonderful and well worth the money for the experience and the peace of mind that came with knowing we were taken care of every step of the way.
Fantastic and knowledgeable tour operator that actually understand their clients type of experience
A trip to South Africa wouldn’t be complete without a Safari.
We didn’t know what to expect but it was certainly worth it and left me with moments of wonder and awe of how beautiful and diverse nature is. Some really special and lasting memories…
Watching a leopard have its breakfast in a tree and a herd of elephants cross the evening river was spectacular as was all the other animals from warthogs to pyjama donkeys!
First thing in the morning and late evening were cold but hot chocolate and gin stops in some fantastic settings soon warmed you up.
Our lodge over looking the river was very peaceful, the afternoons were spent relaxing watching Hippos and Crocodiles from the balcony or the bath!
Food was excellent and staff were friendly and welcoming with nothing too much trouble. Sambavati Hill Top Lodge is first class and
Jolene at Safari.com who organised our trip was more than helpful and when we had to change our plans, nothing was too much trouble.
Highly recommend… 😎
